That's something I've really been meaning to mention. The IP.Board software is pretty nifty -- certainly some of the nicest forum software I've used (and I've used quite a few).

Thanks for all the hard work, team!

I second that. Really, really fantastic job, guys. Everything's running smoothly on the technical side, and, best of all, the discussions have been really great and the general mood has been really positive. I keep saying it, but it really feels great to be back, and you're all a massive part of that. Thanks, everyone.

Scott did mention an article was going up on Gamasutra tomorrow. So that's nice.

I think this is probably one of the biggest problems we're facing right now. The gaming sites covered Double Fine like crazy -- and rightfully so. There was perhaps slightly less coverage for the Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter, but it was still out there (including a two-part profile by Forbes). Along the way, the media has already presented two dominant Kickstarter narratives:

    1) "Wow! This Kickstarter thing is for real! Look at how much money DFA raised!"
    2) "Hey, remember Leisure Suit Larry? Kickstarter can bring old classics back from the dead!"

Since the Two Guys' Kickstarter mirrors the second narrative so closely -- and since Kickstarter gaming projects aren't as novel as they were a couple of months ago -- it's not easy to convince the gaming news sites to give it virtual ink. I know I'll mailed at least a dozen myself trying to "sell" them on new developments, different angles, and other factors that set this Kickstarter apart from the pack. I've had some luck (as have others), but Kickstarter fatigue is tough to beat.

We know this project is something special. We just have to convince the gaming sites that it's special enough to merit a little more of their attention.

Really excellent.. Think (and hope) it goes a long way to address the vague concerns about quality people have had.

And on another note.. As someone who worked in airport security about 10 years ago I'm amazed you got away with that (in these extra-paranoid times). Brilliant.

The Two Guys need to be more out there, period. i've hardly heard anything from Scott or Mark other than private postings on Twitter by Scott. If they want to achieve the success of Josh and Al, they need to be as public as those two. I know they're both private people, but they also presumably want 500K.

More exposure, some interviews would be smart, preferably with a game website like Joystiq, Destructoid, etc, but even a Sierra website like SQN (or dare I say, my own? :) ) would be great.

Couple ideas to get the word out: Submit story ideas to publications: tell them the classic adventure games are coming back! And, if they want to talk to people running a project, check out this project!

For those who didn't play the original games, I compare it to Galaxy Quest. It's hilarious, makes jokes about the Science genre. "Look around you, see if you can form a rudimentary lathe."

From now until the end of the kickstarter: tweet something about a game memory. The secret message font in AstroChicken's secret message was really cool. The space ports were fun to explore, whether at Monolith Burger or an alien planet. Also it was a Sierra game that was cool and fun, a combo that some of the other games didn't have!

I'm currently pledging at the $100 physical tier, though that $150 tier does sound pretty tempting.

I'm currently down for $515 (gotta have both a physical and digital copy). However, if they put in a P+D tier (that's being asked for) I'll happily raise my pledge to that level.

Latest from the Two Guys on their Kickstarter page. "We have some stuff coming guys. Wrapping some video footage that is about to be released.. and Prototype 2 we think is gonna blow you guys away, but that's not all ;)"

    Hi everybody,

I am a mac user and I was disappointed when I found out that Incinerations and VSB wouldn't be released on mac. I figured a few other people very well might have felt the same way I did. So I was able to use wine to kinda do a port over. In case anybody else wanted to play the games and are currently on mac.

Tim Schafer, Al Lowe, and Jane Jensen each did a Reddit "Ask Me Anything", which is a sort of community interview.

Will the Two Guys be doing this?

It's a great way to build publicity for the Kickstarter.

I would suggest you PM the Mods of the AMA subreddit today, and say that the two guys will be answering questions (with help from Chris Pope) Thursday or Friday afternoon.

I'm happy to do anything I can to help, if your not familiar with Reddit.

These are the examples- Study these to get examples of the questions you might be asked ;)

You guys should use Google Docs for these, the post-survey ad on these can be confusing ("Did I complete it? I don't know, maybe I need to register", etc). :)

    Alright, so...

I had $100 worth of advertising credits that came with my website account and which I had never used. I decided to go ahead and plug in a campaign for the SpaceVenture Kickstarter on the google search engine.

These ads, according to google, should begin almost immediately. PLEASE, do NOT click on them if you are already aware of the kickstarter - as they will stop running once my promotional balance is used up.

To try and avoid excessive clicks from being used up, I have them set to display only twice per day maximum to any given unique web surfer. Also, given that the balance is for only $100, I have the quota set to $3.45 per day. What this means is that you may not see these ads at all if the quota gets reached quickly each day; though assuming the adds cost $1 per click (I can't remember exactly what they cost), that's still about 100 more people being led to the SpaceVenture Kickstarter.

I also have credits for facebook and yahoo. I'll be setting those up next.

    Sincerely,

    Johnathon
