e1ven got a reaction from neolycan in Does anyone have high quality (clean) box scans?
I still think this would be a fun project. I have the LucasArts posters up in my office, and I'd love to have the SQ ones as well (My first love!)

I'm re-uploading the PDFs I had made - I generated them in as high DPI as I was able at the time (~ a year ago?). I had talked with a few people offline before I posted here.
They're 1.1G each, which is about the largest size I was able to handle.
I don't have a great scanner myself, so I had gone to a shop downtown to have them scanned.

If someone who had nicer boxes wanted to scan them, that'd still be better. ;)

If these won't work, due to the PDF nature, I can see if I can re-scan as TIFFs sometime later on.

Here is a link to the files I have-
    https://drive.google...Mmc&usp=sharing

Note- The PDF versions a Much, Much, Much bigger than the PNGs. I made the PNGs to downsample/test some things.

A few months ago (wow. Longer, when I really think about it), I had thought it would be fun to print up poster-size box art for SQ, the way I have Monkey Island setup in my office.
The Scans that Frans has up on SQ.net are great, but really low-res.

I made up some of my own from my boxes, but they're no where near first editions, and have scratches, stickers, and the like.

You're welcome to my copies if you want (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6zay8n4q9a3mi4k/fhrHcim_2T), but if anyone had a nice scanner and better boxes, I'd love to see them.

I had asked someone to try cleaning them up a bit, but he dropped the resolution WAY down in doing so, and didn't do that great of a job ;(
You're welcome to those too - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b96klvl4brcf3pz/QYe8vNlTGI - Just keep in mind they're not poster quality.

If no one has another high-res version, the ones I have are good enough for me to print, I just figured I'd throw it out there ;)

Hey, guys. Happy Easter. It's Space Quest Historian time. Yes, with a new intro lovingly rendered by the always amazing Christian Giegerich (the announcer may sound familiar, but don't worry, he's harmless). And some invaluable help from Michael Smith (SokarsStudio) for rendering the video -- apparently, the sheer amount of awesome generated by my special guest left my computer incapable of rendering it.

Anyway, enjoy. And sorry for the long, long, long-ass wait. (The guest appearances were filmed back in November/December!)

So enjoy this trip through my hard drive, and the making of SQ7.

The genius of Space Quest 4 (and to an extent, SQ5/6) was that you could visit and revisit planets and locales, so if you missed an item or event, it could be revisited later. That in itself nixes most unwinnable positions.

e1ven reacted to marsilies in Paypal Pledges
Last night, during the wrap party, they mentioned that they're keeping the Paypal option open for a while longer. They listed some stretch goals for the additional funds:

550k - Translations (German, French, and I think Spanish, with Portuguese a possibility)
600k - Cluck Y'egger mini game (launched from the game menu)
625k - Cluck Y'egger animated graphic novel drawn by Mark Crowe.
650k - An additional level in the game featuring a playable female protagonist.
    700k - EGA graphics mode

They didn't mention a specific deadline for paypal pledges or the stretch goals. Hoewver, a number of these can be added pretty late into the development, so I wouldn't expect them to cut Paypal funding until they need to lock down the game and finish it for release.

For Paypal pledges, now that the Kickstarter is over, those pledging will not receive any Kickstarter exclusive items like the Buckazoids. I think those paypal pledges that came in before the Kickstarter ended should get them though.

In addition, they're planning to open up a store for selling SpaceVenture merchandise. They previewed a Cluck Y'egger pilot wings pin that will be available. They also talked about the possibility of another Buckazoid coin with a different design from the Kickstarter exclusive. Purchases from the store will go towards the stretch goals.

Keep in mind that this is mostly from memory of what was said, and the Two Guys were pretty blitzed last night as well. So all this is subject to corrections or changes when they post the official announcements.

e1ven got a reaction from Spikey in Did you pledge more than $2500 for the Kickstarter, if so, get a (almost) free SQ4 box art poster ;)
    Posting this more widely -

    Right, so here's the thing.
The poster that they used to make the box art for SQ4 is on eBay, and will be for the next hour.
The money that is spent on it will be re-invested back into the TGA kickstarter, in YOUR name.

That means if you win, you get the poster AND the prizes from the kickstarter.
Which means, if you had bid more than $2500 (the current price), you could currently go over to eBay, bid the same amount, and win the poster as a free gift.

    W00t!.

On the one hand, if you win, you'll get an awesome poster, AND get the kickstarter prize.
If you lose, you drive up the price for whomever wins, and they end up paying more.

    Consider this scenerio-
They guy who's winning the auction on the poster might have bid $12,000.
You were willing to pay $5000 for the Kickstarter, because, aparently, you're rich.

You go bid the same 5000 on the eBay poster - If you won somehow, you get the poster, and you can feel free to lower your KS pledge by the $5K.
If you lose, you just drove that OTHER guy to increase his pledge up to $5K, so he now accidentily donates an extra $2.5K to the KS, and you're out nothing.

If you pledged over $2500 (as of right now), you have very little to lose by doing this, and it can make money for TGA, and possible get a nearly free poster

Mark was a bit ill with Space Flu, and Chris's mike didn't work, but it was a really great interview.
    I hope to see more.

Will the Two Guys be doing this?

It's a great way to build publicity for the Kickstarter.

I would suggest you PM the Mods of the AMA subreddit today, and say that the two guys will be answering questions (with help from Chris Pope) Thursday or Friday afternoon.

I'm happy to do anything I can to help, if your not familiar with Reddit.

These are the examples- Study these to get examples of the questions you might be asked ;)

I was never as big of a collector as some folk, mostly on a account of being poor.
But these were the ones I pulled together.

On the top, I have SQ1 EGA ( regular and cheesy version), SQ2 playable and shrinkwrapped, SQ3, the collection.
Then SQ4, and a duplicate CD-only version I ended up with, SQ5, and the hardest one to get.. SQ6.
SQ6 was by far the hardest SQ game for me, since I kept getting people sending me the CD only. I have a pile of dupes in the next row ;(
I have the Austrailian 3 quest game collections. The 3 comics, and the companions.
I also have two non SQ, SQ things- A DVD that happens to be named "Space Quest", and Roger Wilco beer.
