Casual misogyny I can stand, but such terrible, ugly Americanisms shall not be allowed to pass. -
Then go realize some aluminum, if you please.

Dat Engineer reacted to Troels Pleimert in New QfG style game in SCII'm pretty sure Brandon is right -- SQ4 was always meant to be a VGA game, because they wanted to do hand-painted, digitized backgrounds (like all the other Sierra games around that time).
However, I know Brandon is absolutely right about the parser/P-n-C controversy surrounding SQ4. SQ4 was supposed to be a parser game, but the icons were forced on Scott and Mark.

Dat Engineer got a reaction from Troels Pleimert in Room removed for Legal ReasonsThe "legal reasons room" simply lifts the Treasure Room music from King's Quest 6 (composed by Chris Brayman).
-
Dat Engineer got a reaction from MusicallyInspired in Bird and stuff in Space Quest III?The "bird" line is specifically referring to what the narrator says when you view the status monitor in the Aluminum Mallard, and all the parts are completely functional.

Dat Engineer reacted to BlockMaster in Space Quest IV time codesYou should create a Blue Frog topic! ;) I'm sure that everyone would like to "hop" on.

Dat Engineer reacted to Troels Pleimert in SQ5 Space Bar Music Easter EggI like how it "reminded" you of what a shrooms trip "must be like" ... how can it remind you of something unspecific in your imagination? :)
I've been on shrooms. I'd love to kick back and listen to the Spacebar music all evening on shrooms, but it wouldn't sound any different. The couch might bubble and undulate a bit, though.

Dat Engineer got a reaction from Troels Pleimert in Paul Trowe criticism on Kickstarter updateI think it's in our best interests to deal with this matter positively, as suggested above, by expressing our appreciation for the 2GFA and for other adventure game designers. Then, we have to move on from this as quickly as possible. The last thing we need is to drag this out to extra innings by pursuing a vendetta against Paul Trowe. No matter how much we might revile him, as DrJ said, the adventure game community has struggled for long enough to gain traction again, and we do not need any further drama to take the stage.

Dat Engineer reacted to Troels Pleimert in Star ConDude, you have to be buzzed in order to make sense of any of this. ;)
Well, even though there's still a mess to clear up, Roger might be safe when he reappears in SQ4 outside the Magmethean canteen. Assuming that all Spols (I like that abbreviation) originate from the SQ12 timeline -- and also assuming that defeating Vohaul in SQ12 causes all the Spols, regardless of where they are, to deactivate -- then Roger should be fine. Or at least not in any immediate mortal danger upon his return.
That's assuming a hell of a lot, though. For all we know, all the Spols are now running around the SQ timeline like headless chickens, stirring up shit wherever they can, trying to find a period in time where the Vohaul Virus is still intact in space somewhere so they can get back to what they were doing and ... hey, there might be a story in that.
Maybe I should get buzzed myself before I go any further.

Dat Engineer got a reaction from pcj in Hardest Space QuestI'll tell you why we don't agree - because it was never intended to be that hard. ;) If you play SQ4 on a normal computer, Skate-o-Rama is just another action/arcade sequence. On the other hand, SQ2 is unforgivably hard the whole way through.

Dat Engineer got a reaction from Troels Pleimert in SQ6 CRASH : Can't solve the famous problem, help me !In 1996 I think almost everyone had something more powerful than a 486, since you needed the increased processing power in order to play Quake. :P
