I've known Josh long enough to see through the ruse. Like Justin said, the comment left by "Josh Mandel" is not at all like him. To anyone in the know, it's quite obvious who this impostor is. (This is one "Josh" that I wouldn't mind setting on fire in a dilapidated old cabin)

Women can be whatever they want to be, but I would argue PEOPLE are supposed to be kind, sensitive and caring. Not really a gender issue. ;)

That is quite a sexist thing to say. But since I assume you mean no malice, perhaps you should think about why that could be construed as offensive.

Who gives a damn how Judge Judy or Bertha behave? Is there a specific way women are supposed to be? Meek, polite, not "a bitch"? Why are men not held up to the same standard? Is Barney from How I Met Your Mother "rewarded" for his behaviour? What is the standard by which women should be judged?

If a woman wants to say "outrageous" things, why the hell shouldn't she? Why shouldn't a woman in a position of power be condescending and patronising? If a man did any of those things, I doubt you'd be so quick to judge.

If you don't like Bertha or Judy, fine (I'm probably with you on that score). But to suggest that this is bad behaviour for women, or that it is somehow "rewarded" pretty much ignores the way that women are disciplined in general through their lives.

Women shouldn't be anything other than human beings. The question of whether people in general ought to behave in certain ways is certainly up for debate. But leave gender out of it. It has nothing to do with the issues at hand.

Working on the latest SQH podcast prompted me to make some major changes to my Sierra's Resource Files site. I've taken a closer look at some of the games' text in SCI Viewer, and I'm starting to get a much better sense of where and when some of the things I've found were supposed to appear in their respective games. I've discovered several things which I didn't add to the pages for one reason or another, nearly all of it from SQ4 and SQ6.

With this influx of new material, I've had to do a lot of shuffling around. The SQ series are now on a page of their own rather than the Miscellaneous page, and I ended up adding so much stuff from SQ6 that I had to create a separate page just for it (as well as its demo). I've also moved the content from my Secret Sounds of SQ6 to this new SQ6 page, since A) the Secret Sounds page is woefully outdated, B ) other games on SRF have audio on their pages, and C) it's slightly tidier this way.

You've probably seen/heard lot of these new additions already, but for the most part, I've never seen many of these things gathered together in one online location. Even the SQ Omnipedia and The Cutting Room Floor Wiki don't have the clips of Roger reading the Radio Shock Catalog (though now, the latter probably soon will; they've borrowed a lot of stuff from SRF already).

I've also played through the SQ4 beta and posted some of my more interesting finds here, which include Zondra without her boots during the torture scene, a slightly annoyed comment left by a programmer, and a glitch that actually has to be triggered in order to progress in the game.

(By the way: If any of you are particularly fond of Maebot's voice and demeanor, you might end up feeling a little confused once you've learned how this particular character appeared in the beta. Also, the outro is amazing, and has to be seen to be believed.)

I think there's a bigger issue being neglected here and that's one of trust. Even if he withdrew completely from the public eye and let someone else steer the ship, just the fact that he has previously dealt in some shady business practices (thinking specifically of the finagling-funds-for-Tom-King scheme here) would make it hard to accept anything coming out of a company where he is employed as kosher.
I mean, they'd basically have to make it part of the marketing campaign at this point: "Trowe only packed the boxes! No shady deals were involved in the making of this game!"

I don't really get it either. I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches anyway. If I had a choice, I'd much rather have a nice, home-made pizza or maybe a healthy serving of chili con carne. But misogynists seem to settle for the most boring choice of food humanely possible.

Oh god, the fucking sandwiches again ... look, it's bread against bread with bits in the middle. How is this so hard for men to make on their own?

    Sorry, broke character there. ;)

Even if he's still in charge of the company or whatever, he needs to withdraw from social media, and (whether honorific or not) give someone else the title of CEO and full control of external communications. He can still run the company, but he cannot be a public face in any way, shape or form. Then he needs to completely shut himself off from making comments outside his office walls and concentrate on rebuilding the reputation of his company by making good games and providing excellent service.

Then, and only then, can he even contemplate trying to rebuild his own image. Which, quite frankly, I think is beyond salvation.

This is a short way of saying "not bought any of their products, and won't even consider it until he fecks off".

Without wanting to sound too harsh, you're unlikely to get anyone reliable and/or talented without explaining exactly what it is you plan to do, how you plan to do it. I mean, even something basic like what type of game it is, what your influences are, how you intend to work.

Right now, this doesn't say anything. And I don't feel confident about your chances.
