Intendant S got a reaction from Frede in Al Lowe retires (again), probably due to issues with Paul Trowe
I, too, really hope that this dies down soon. All of this business is really taking a toll on me and I just want it to end.

To answer some of your comments, shoptroll (love the name, btw):

The big surprise in January is most likely the Leisure Suit Larry Casino game they've been talking about for months. I'd be extremely surprised that Paul would announce another full-blown PnC remake with both Al and Josh out of the picture. Even if it was done, nobody in the know will support it.

I haven't heard anything from the Fester Mudd team in ages. While I was still a member of the forums, there was no talk of a second part even being made let alone published. I did rather enjoy the first part, though, and would love to see more...just not as long as Replay releases it.

Just before being kicked off the testing team in October, I got to see a lot of the changes made to version 2.0. If the problem with the gambling save/load problem that you're talking about is the one where it resets your bet when you load, then you should be happy that it was fixed.

Also, only moments ago, I created a website for the podcast where you can always find the latest episode and, er, other stuff.  Yep -- http://spacequesthistorian.com is a reality.

I didn't knew he talked trash of Jane Jensen and Corey Cole as well.
Judging solely by the article you linked, his life seems like a total trainwreck at the moment.
Well, i honestly don't care at all about him, but i'm honestly sorry, as an old Sierra adventures fan, that Al Lowe won't work on LSL ever again.
His reaction to the situation was very cool and gentleman-like. He just corrected the false statements made about himself and basically shrugged it off with class.

And that's nowhere near everything that he's done. But, like Frede said, it's the most important stuff. Just be prepared. There's some scary shit there.

This is already known among quite a few of us, but discussing it can't hurt  :)

The most important events that led up to Lowe's return to retirement have been covered by Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It's by far the most sober and well-documented account out there, so it's well worth a read. If we see ever see Al at the helm of a game again, it will surely be without Trowe at his side...

What, Current Inside Copy wasn't enough? :)

But, seriously ... that could actually be a lot of fun. If we could amass a bunch of archival photographs and such from the glory days of Sierra, it would be cool to do a fan-made sequel to CIC as a sort of "VH1 Behind The Music" pastiche.

I recently got a semi-buzzed-induced flash of creative genius...[or insanity!]

At some point it might be fun for a bunch of us to do a retrospective on the Space Quest Series and/or Sierra games in general done in the vain of the "I love the **insert decade, holiday, or fad here** specials that VH1 used to produce ad-nauseam in the early 2000s

Well Troels, I've now listened to all 4 podcasts, the first 3 in a row actually, and I have to say, good stuff. True I may have fallen asleep once or twice, or every couple of minutes, but whose counting. I think only one concussion resulted when my head hit the edge of a table after one nod-off, so that's not so bad, and the honeyed tones of your voice may have short circuited my Flaxion Inner Ear implant, but it was old and due for replacement, I hear fine out the other ear.

I look forward to more my friend, please keep slogging through the muck and weilding that mop, because I suspect there are few plebs like me that really enjoy what you are doing. That goes for all your guests as well, thanks for taking the time to add to this podcast, both the time and the effort are appreciated.

Evil little shit. You know, that pretty much sums him up to a T. There's something wrong with a guy who would intentionally sabotage other Kickstarters out of spite. So yeah, those three words seem to fit him perfectly.

You may never know how truly evil he is (mostly because of events that won't be discussed here) but let's just say that not only does he look like Leisure Suit Larry, he's much lower in the primordial gene pool.

Intendant S reacted to Frede in List of Space Quest Fan Games
Well, the game is out there, so people are free to decide whether they love it or hate it. I should know - VSB has gotten a fair bit of flak as well. Producing a fan game does not necessarily mean insta-worship, and it's not going to disappear just because someone doesn't like it. Also, this is me disagreeing with you. On a discussion forum. Not picking your statement to bits.

You're right to talk about respect, though. But some of us have reasons for not liking that game, assuming this is SQ4.5 you're talking about, nor respecting its creator. I know that statement is annoyingly cryptic, so here's the story, for the umpteenth time (yes, I'm bitter and I like rambling):

The guy who made SQ4.5 worked as composer on Incinerations. As did I. But I turned in music I had made myself. He ripped a bunch of music off some film soundtracks and sent in that. When he was busted, it was too late to delay the game and he wouldn't even admit what he'd done; he was blaming his "record company". Cause they'd gone off and used his Space Quest music for Battle: Los Angeles and TRON Legacy without his permission. Yeah, that'll be the day.

And, just to be clear, Chris Ushko who made this game had asked for original music. The entire game had a temp soundtrack during development, so if he wanted to risk a C&D, he wouldn't even have had to bring any composers on board. He HAD a ripped soundtrack handy!

I think it's entirely my right to harbour resentment for these actions and judge this person's other "creative" works based on it. He made a brilliant game look slightly worse, he is still endangering its very existence (unless Disney never finds out about the TRON music) and he potentially made the work of us other composers come off worse. You know, cause if one of the composers is a rip-off, someone might think the others are too. All that for 15 minutes of fame.

I hear the "original soundtrack" in SQ4.5 is anything but. Wonder who the record company sold his music to there.

By all means, use ripped resources to convey your story if you must. But be honest about it and don't let your lies potentially damage other people's reputations. Have pure intentions. Then your "Space Quest mashup" of sorts (admittedly, I tend to love mashups) is worthy of my respect. I hope the above clears up why I think this game is not.

That's why. He's a small man. It's all he has for attention. The sad thing is he didn't have to do any of this at all. He could have approached everything an entirely different way and become a respected icon in the adventure revival. But instead he chose to act the way he did and now he's gone too far to ever come back.

Hey, guys! I'm excited to announce my first step on my own into the music industry (besides the game work I've done) with my first song entitled "Uncontrolled Reentry"!

It's a 9-minute instrumental with elements of electronic, rock, progressive, and probably more reflecting my personal journey through life, how unpredictable it's been, and how I'm positive and excited about where the future will take me. All that fancy wording aside, it's basically just finally my own project with my own ideas and outlook on music that I've been wanting to get out there for years. It's inspired by artists like Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, and even bands like Dream Theatre and Pagan's Mind. It's available from my website BrandonBlume.com, my Facebook Page and my Bandcamp music store only right now, but it will be coming to iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, and more digital distributors in the coming weeks, and I'll let you know when that happens.

I'm releasing this single preemptively to support a forthcoming full-length album I'm thinking of calling "Peaks and Valleys". I'll be representing a somewhat wider variety of styles in the full album in various ways, but mostly by combining my favourite sounds into one style, similar to how I've done that in this single.

You can stream Uncontrolled Reentry from my Bandcamp music store or from my SoundCloud. If you like what you hear and want to hear more please consider throwing me a dollar and supporting me and my project!

I hope you enjoy it! And if you do please spread the word and mention it to your friends. :) Thank you, Troels, for the retweet, btw!

I wouldn't want you to bare your innermost in intimate detail or anything. I just want to know what attracts you to Space Quest and adventure games in general, and why you think game companies are so eager to appeal to a "girl demographic."

Jeysie and I have been having a great chat on Twitter about locker room mentality in FPS games, testosterone release simulators, girls being more into casual games, the increased focus in storytelling in games coinciding with a rise in female gamers, and such. I'm sure you would have a unique perspective that would be immensely valuable.
