I'm not a scientist, but if you have a dick, for once you're not eligible. ;)
Yes, I realize the irony of combatting sexual discrimination by discriminating myself. That's because I not only have a dick, I also am one.
Edit: Kidding aside, transgender and transsexuals are, of course, also welcome! I don't know if we even have any from the transgender crosssection represented in the SQ community? Would be cool if we did. I wear nail polish myself occasionally, but that hardly qualifies.

Aaaand ... it's out!
http-~~-//traffic.libsyn.com/techjives/2013-11-13_SQ_Historian_Episode_3.mp3
The 3rd episode features Blackthorne talking about the alternate path that was cut from SQ2VGA, as well as what he'd like to do if he ever got to do that VGA remake of SQ3 that we all wanted to see.
Also, Brandon Blume and Ken Allen talk about Brandon's metal medley. No, I will NOT stop talking about that! It's fucking AWESOME! So I made it a recurring segment! DEAL WITH IT! ;)
And, lastly, LordKat came through and delivered in true LordKat form.
Enjoy! And check out this link for behind the scenes info and LordKat's uncensored rant.

Intendant S reacted to BlockMaster in Introduce Yourself!I have a proof that Space Quest continued to the second generation, being the son of someone who loved the series, and having found the series after the end of Sierra. I live in Canada and I'm still playing Space Quest. I finished the series once, but I'm still trying to find more secrets. ;) Anyone else in the second generation of Space Questers?

Oh, come on, the Quake 4 gag was brilliant! "I knew it had a Q in it somewhere!" I was laughing my ass off. "That's ... not how I remember it."
And Fred's Cedric doll will haunt me 'til the day I die. You fucker. ;)

I want to thank everybody again who contributed to my little idea. It isn't even my idea anymore, I feel like I played such a small part in this. I said in one of the comments already on Facebook that I really didn't even feel like I knew what I was doing half the time, it just sort of developed a life of its own and that's entirely due to the content that you guys made. For my part, I know I'm not very funny and can't act to save my life, so I'm glad that I had so much great content from lots of other much funnier people than myself to hide my stuff between. I'm just glad I could stand alongside you guys.
This community really is the best. Thanks again.

It sure did, man. Watching this stirred that odd, rare, warm feeling of pride I have of being part of one of the most tight-knit, dedicated game communities ever.
As much as The Two Guys and the Space Pope rock, so do the Space Quest fans. Much love.

Finally uploaded here for your viewing pleasure! Thanks to everyone who contributed, it all really made a difference. This video turned out to be something special indeed. SQ fans rock!

Intendant S got a reaction from nockgeneer in SpaceVenture Update #82 (Split from Criticism thread)I've gotta give them some major props for still doing a shout-out for Larry after what happened. Now that's class. :y:

Just spent all day organizing and arranging all these videos together. I think I've finally got this flowing nicely. It really is something special and even more funny with everyone's excellent humour put together. The final video length is just about 25 minutes.
I'll do some fine-tuning and adding sound effects, music, and text during the week.

Alright, it's now Nov 3rd. That means submissions are closed. If you were still finishing up, I might consider letting your submission in for a small fee. Otherwise you're out of luck. (Just kidding, send it anyway) I'm working on editing the final set of videos in now. Not sure how long it will take me, hopefully no more than a week. It's looking good, though. You're submissions were all very funny and will work well together.
Bsck to editing!

That is a subjective view. The QfG series has a very loyal following, perhaps in part because the character that you build can be imported from one game into the next. It provides for a continuity that goes beyond the other series that keep the same protagonists. It also successfully combines elements of an RPG with an adventure game, with the emphasis on the Adventure parts.
The KQ games also have a fair following with KQ6 generally considered by many as one of the all time best adventure games. This is probably in large part because of Jane Jensen's influence, which brings up her signature series, GK, which also has a very loyal following.
I'll leave it to the LSL fans to say why they love that series.
The remaining series have their following, but not on the scale as the previous ones.
Edit: This could be a fairly large in itself, so it may be best to split it off into its own thread.
-
Really enjoyed Serena's piece, and totally agree that this should be a recurring feature as we get new news on various Kickstarters. Perhaps a segment which looks at some of the other adventure game series? While I played quite a few of them, my knowledge is far more limited than most of you, and I'd like some good recommendations of other quality adventures to procure.

Intendant S reacted to Troels Pleimert in Bolt RIley - A Reggae Adventure (by Quest for Glory designers)It's a great concept made all the sweeter by the (I'm assuming baked) presence of Lori & Corey Cole.
And yes, this is the Adventure Mob who were supposed to have done LSL1:R.
