  1. I just caught wind of this. Gamespot - Defunct Publisher Reveals New Website At the moment, nothing else has been announced. More will be revealed at Gamescom 2014.
  2. Has the Sierra Convention been cancelled? The Facebook page has disappeared, and I can't find any other information about it.
  3. I just got your email. Thank you again for help!
  4. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I sent you an email. If you didn't get it, please let me know. I asked about this in the email, but I wanted to repost it here in case someone else had this problem. Do you also have the shipping address for when the physical copies ship out, or do we submit that info later?
  5. What information do I need to send to you in the email?
  6. I don’t know if anybody can help me with this, but I got an email stating that the stretch goal donations were going to end soon, so I decided to upgrade my donation before it was too late. However, I didn’t get any kind of email or notification about my upgrade. The only thing I got was an email from PayPal saying that my payment to Chris Pope was successful. Is there supposed to be some kind of notification? The reason I ask is because I worry that my email spam filters might have blocked it. Also, I upgraded to the $100 level, but there was no prompt for a shipping address.
  7. It was pretty close, but thankfully, we made it through.
  8. I actually recieved the companion book just last year as a Christmas gift. You can find the book for sale on Amazon.com: The Space Quest Companion. Used copies of the book seem to range from twelve to twenty-one dollars before the prices start getting ludicrous. Most of the new copies are pretty pricey, though. On a side note, the copy I got was the second edition. I can't recall, but I think the only difference with the second edition is that it covers Space Quest V.
  9. Good news everyone! Like the Double Fine Adventure and Wasteland 2, you can now support the Larry 1 remake through Kickstarter! Leisure Suit Larry 1 Remake on Kickstarter
  10. Alright! A new SQ fan-game! This is the best Christmas ever! On a more serious note, I haven't played the game yet, as my antivirus quarantined the winsetup.exe when I installed the game and first ran it. Should I be worried about this, or is it safe to ignore?
  11. Sorry for double-posting, but I found that there was a follow-up to the first video. Here's the link:
  12. I was watching Evening Magazine (a local TV news magazine show in the Seattle area) last night, and they had a segment on the Rain City Hearse Club. I was surprised to learn that the founder of the club was Lorelei Shannon! For those of you who might not recognize the name, Lorelei Shannon worked for Sierra as the designer on Pepper's Adventure in Time, King's Quest VII and Phantasmagoria II. She isn't in the video for very long, and there isn't any mention of her work for Sierra, but I was just surprised, and though it was worth mentioning, in case anyone was interested. If you'd like to see the video, I've included the link: Car collections fit for Halloween Additionally, I included the link to her profile on the Rain City Hearse Club's website, which also has a link back to her website: Lorelei and Annabell Lee
  13. Just today, I found a video interview that someone conducted with Josh Mandel, talking about what he did before he joined Sierra, and his thoughts on the transition between parser-adventures to point-and-click adventures. Here's the link: Also, it looks like there might be a follow up to this video, as the description says that this is the first part.
  14. For those of you who might be interested, someone just finished a video Let's Play of all six Space Quest games over on the Something Awful Let's Play forums. Here's the link to the thread.
  15. The Virtual Broomcloset actually has an old article about a hypothetical cast for a Space Quest movie: Space Quest Casting Call Of course, the list is out-of-date, so I don't know how suitable any of the suggestions would be today. To be honest, I highly doubt that we'll ever see a movie based on Space Quest. But then again, there was just a movie about the Smurfs, so I guess anything's possible. :?
  16. I finally got the chance to play the game, and it's great! (Y) Also, I saw that Adventure Gamers is featuring the game in it's Following Freeware article for this month. EDIT: I just found out that It's also been featured over on Rock, Paper, Shotgun as well - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/07/20/a-fforde-able-adventure-its-free/
  17. Actually, I was not aware that there were any, but now I feel stupid for not looking to see if there were any... :frusty: Now I really feel stupid for writing that post. :P I wasn't aware that the drag-and-drop function for DOSBox didn't work on the Mac, but in hindsight, I should have realized that just because something works on one operating system, it won't necessarily work on the other. Also, I did not mean to imply that I would buy a Mac just to use Boxer. You see, I had been researching Mac computers prior to reading this thread, and I was considering the possibility of buying one in the future. When I saw Boxer, I thought, "If I were to get a Mac, that would be a neat program to try out." I wasn't weighing my decision on the ability to use Boxer. I meant to say that I found it as a small incentive. Truthfully, I've actually abandoned the idea of buying a Mac altogether. Also, thanks for the the link to DBGL, Collector. I'll have to try it out and see if it works.
  18. Seeing the customizable game shelf and the CD compatibility, I think that I would purchase a Mac just to use this software (plus all the other stuff that comes with a Mac) However, at same time, I can't quite see how the CD function would work. Obviously you can just drag and drop DOS an executable that you download from Abandonia.com for it to run, but then DOSBox can do the exact same thing; all that happens is that the program starts the executable, and looks to see if all the additional files are in the same folder. Running games from the CD is lot more complicated than that, though, since I believe it has to read information from the hard drive, and from the disc. I've tried to get a DOS game to run from the CD, and it's not an easy task, so I can't imagine how it could automatically set up the CD drives and such properly. It says on the site that you can run disc images, but then that presents another problem: How would you add patches? I suppose you could unpack the image, but would it still work correctly? Regardless, it still looks interesting, and if I owned a Mac, I would definitely try it out.
  19. I saw this article the other day, and I meant to make a post about it, but I got caught up with other stuff. Leisure Suit Larry Returns Later This Year
  20. I just read about this on Kotaku: King's Quest Finds A New Life While I too am a bit skeptical about a King's Quest made by Telltale, I'm thinking that they'll probably do something to appeal to the Sierra fans. Perhaps they'll recruit someone like Al Lowe or Josh Mandel to work on the game. Also, does anyone think that it's odd that this is announced the same day that Episode III of the King's Quest IX fan-game comes out?
