He asked a hard question, I'll give a hard answer (and this is BY NO MEANS sanctioned by Chris, The Two Guys, or anyone else): Because you suck. I couldn't be more thrilled that Paul Trowe is bringing back Leisure Suit Larry and seems to be genuinely interested in resurrecting the old Sierra classics. But if he thinks he's going to be the next Ken Williams, well, then, fuck him.

Okay, now the SQ community has seriously woken up. We haven't had a happy birthday here for 12 odd years, maybe more. Now, all of a sudden: Wham! :D Congrats, PCJ! I hope you find these forum well-wishes a bit more meaningful than the obligatory barrage of Facebook one-liners we all get. ;)

That reminds me. Jane Jensen did Pepper's Adventures Through Time. I only played the demo, but I remember that thing being deceptively devious. No sekey madoule puzzle, though, but still. ;)

I remember hearing those when I listened to the RESOURCE.AUD file in SQ4. There's a couple of really interesting tidbits in that thing, like the Roger actor reading out the inventory of Hz So Good. (I used one as a sample in my "Metal Medley.") ;)

I have tons of game CD's that are in no condition to be played. The Space Quest Collection CD's included. I don't really have much to chime in with here, apart from getting behind Olzen's outburst 100%. (Then again, you should see Olzen and I riling up other people on Facebook when we start talking about music copyright. Sometimes it sounds like we're planning revolutions. ;) )

Thanks for the clarification, Johnathon! But, again, what's stopping The Two Guys from just carrying on the Wilco legend under a different banner is that it would almost certainly be like waving a bloodsoaked cloth in front of a rabidly hungry wolverine. A wolverine named Activision.

I played all of them. Chris and Team VSB were kind enough to let me play their games ahead of time, so I haven't played the final versions - haven't even seen my name in the SQInc credits. ;) I loved them all, to be honest. SQ2VGA was a wonderful trip down memory lane, lovingly recreated, and a real joy (I did turn the voices off, though - sorry, guys!). VSB was a colorful fun-ride. SQInc had me on the edge of my seat sweating buckets. Three different experiences, all great in my book. Something tells me Edge of Earnon is going to be a fourth different experience, and I am looking very much forward to playing that as well.

Likewise. Haven't given up. Though time gets in the way. So if anyone out there is holding their breath, you can let go now. Just breathe shallowly and we're cool. :)

Best game soundtrack ever, in my opinion, is Matt Gray's The Last Ninja II. It's more than just an ordinary C64 soundtrack. It's a full-fledged album. And it's a frighteningly rocking one at that. I never knew the SID chip could rock this hard. Track #2 is earcatchingly awesome; track #3 is power-balladly awesome; track #12 is epically awesome. Fun fact: Matt Gray went on to be one of the four individuals responsible for Cher's "Believe" single. The one with the autotuner. Don't worry, the Ninja soundtrack is nothing like that. The Ninja soundtrack kicks ass. Edit: Oh yeah, forgot. Link.

In my mind, it falls under the category "ambient." In the same family as Aphex Twin's excellent Selected Ambient Works II album, which is also "just" a collage of rhythm-less sounds. Quake's a bit darker, obviously, but good for setting a mood. :) Just so we're clear, Descent Into Cerberon is the 9th track on the original Quake II CD, right? (The 1st track being the data track.) The track that plays in the first level is track number 7, which I can't remember what's called. Also, we should probably move all this music talk to another thread. ;)

My wife and I keep coming back to the same shows. We watch an awful lot of Futurama, Red Dwarf, Seinfeld, Black Books, Invader Zim and The Simpsons. We also used to have a fairly big crush on Scrubs, up until season 6 when things started to get a little too Grey's Anatomy for our tastes.
