  1. I'll help you with track titles. In my more arrogant moments, I like to think I was the one who originated the "Format Countdown" title. (Although that was pretty obvious ...)
  2. I spoke to Chris Pope on the phone about it, so I think it's pretty legit. They're going to be going over screenshots of the old games -- like granddaddy showing slides from old vacations -- and talking about fun stories of the development. It's not going to be a running commentary over a Long Play, per se.
  3. Actually, there's going to be some Two Guys commentary on the old games coming soon.
  4. Great stuff! And great job on capturing those!
  5. I actually thought the SQ5 soundtrack was pretty solid. Way better than SQ6. That said, I'm really bummed to hear that Ken Allen's SQ5 soundtrack will, apparently, remain unheard forever. :(
  6. Thanks for clearing that up -- you can probably tell, I was having trouble with that one myself. ;)
  7. That's true, but from that point on it gets muddled. Is including a buckazoid an infringement, but the inclusion of The Two Guys characters aren't? Is that still in effect? I haven't checked, and I can't remember if any of us actually went out and checked if there's a statute of limitations on those things?
  8. Hmmm ... I didn't know that channel was still around. I actually have an SSH client on my phone connected to a shell that's always-on IRC. Maybe I'll hop on. But that will mean that I'll appear to be constantly connected, even though I'm not actually there. ;)
  9. Did I mention I'm really ffffrrrrr...(mustn't swear...mustn't swear...) jealous I wasn't in the chat room with Scott while the SQ's were playing? ;)
  10. The Space Quest rights are actually very muddled. The rights to the existing Space Quest games are very firmly in the hands of Activision. Elements within the Space Quest games, however, are not necessarily trademarked -- in fact, the rights to the "Space Quest" name itself was pretty muddled around 1995, when the SQ6 box bore the "Children's Museum of Indianapolis" disclaimer on the back. However, the safest thing to do is to stay away from existing material. Thin ice and all that. If Activision's legal department would get wind of a Two Guys game with buckazoids and Roger Wilco in it, no amount of fan protests would change what came next. Even if buckazoids and Roger Wilco aren't technically trademarked, at least not in a legally binding sense. (We already had a great big discussion on the difference between "trademarks" and "REGISTERED trademarks." As far as we can tell, only the name "Space Quest" is a registered trademark.)
  11. Aw, man, no fair. I so wanted in on that. :(
  12. Stuff is okay, though. Apparently, it was more of a "break-down" than an "accident." But still sorry to hear about it. I've seen tweets and KS updates saying he got back to his SQ ways, hours after I left the chat?
  13. Voice parser would be fun! Finally, the SIRI technology would actually be useful for something. ;) (And THANK YOU, Chris Datadog, for putting that gag in Incinerations -- which I'm very impressed about, seeing as SIRI wasn't really invented when you wrote that, was it?) I'm so bummed I missed Scott on the chat. I had a chance to wave to The Pope, though. That chat sure was chaos.
  14. I think it's a great idea, sticking the individual actors on a YouTube video on their own -- you're right, people are probably searching for GlaDOS and not coming across The Two Guys at all! ;)
  15. There's going to be an interview with 2GFA on Gamasutra in the coming days. I heard tomorrow.
  16. As you may have seen, Ken Williams pledged to the Two Guys Kickstarter and wrote the following endorsement in the comment field: "Greetings all! I hope that everyone will pitch in and help Scott/Mark get the funding needed to build a game. The world needs a bit of humor about now, and in true Space Quest style the Two Guys from Andromeda may have what we most need. -Ken Williams" If you feel like helping out, please tweet or post about the fact that the founder of Sierra On-Line -- and, no joke, the reason why Space Quest even exists -- has given his blessings ... and his boat money. Include a link to www.tgakick.com somewhere in there for maximum ass-kicking velocity points. :) This post has been promoted to an article
  17. Oooh! *does a silly jig* :) Daniel Stacey's already on board, as is Fred Olsen. We could probably very easily get Leonard Kramer involved as well -- we've already been playing KQ2VGA with Dan over Hangouts. Trust us, it's tons of fun.
  18. Were you really a teenager? I always thought you were so much older than me, and uh, before I get that horrible taste of foot in my mouth, I mean that in a reverent way; in a little-brotherly kind of way, really. I felt like a kid, and honestly, sometimes still do. Even with this massive power I suddenly wield, mwaah-ha-ha-ha...cough. Ooh, ooh. Hangout ... Hangout ... "Top tier Wilco fans play the classic and reminisce, whilst simultaneously plugging the hell out of the new SpaceVenture." I can see it all now. ;)
  19. That's a very good idea. I'll just reiterate that it's important to not have this turn into a "us vs them" thing. Every one of these projects deserve support, because they're all bringing something cool back -- DFA, Tex, Jane, etc. But you're right, the continuous stream of demos give the project an advantage the other KS's don't have.
  20. Best of luck, Phantom Man! :) Got any tricks for getting past the Skate-o-Rama? Othereise we might be there a while. ;)
  21. Good to see you, Mr. Phantom! I have plugged your playthrough in a separate thread. It's a great idea you've got there, and I'm really looking forward to checking in. :)
  22. Can you think of anyone who may not necessarily know about Space Quest, but might be predisposed to backing it if they saw how cool it was? I'm thinking maybe general gaming forums. Also, there's the charity aspect, so you're not necessarily restricted to gaming sites, either. I just gotta be a stickler and ask that, if you post around, you do it naturally. Don't just copy-and-paste spam. We're trying to show a modicum of respect. ;) Thanks for spreading the word; I know for a fact it's a big help. :)
  23. Yeah, the actual meeting (after the dream) was the genuine, unscripted, true-life reunion of the Two Guys. The first time they'd seen each other in 20 years.
  24. I don't know; why don't you ask him? :)
