"THEY DID WHAT?!?!?!?!?!" A bunch of Sierra classics are among the list of released games as well. Even some rather obscure titles that yours truly never even heard of. Click here! Activision, you've had your chance to milk that cow for all it was worth and you blew it! edit: Tried my hand at "Mixed-Up Fairy Tales", because that's how tough muthafuckas roll! I don't know why, but for some reason the interface doesn't do anything. Oh well, maybe I'll try some of the other stone-age-Sierras later, maybe those will work properly. edit 2: LSL 5 asks me for my password. Never having entered one, I'm thrown out of the game after a few unsuccessful attempts. :P I guess I'll stick with my GOG collection after all... Hopefully, this will serve as a wake up call to the dumb cnts at Activision to rerelease their old stuff. (Yeah, fat chance! But a man can still dream, right?!)

It's almost 2 in the morning here and I was sound asleep when I felt a disturbance in the force, like 10000 SQ fans crying out in orgasmic joy at the same time. I was too tired to read it all. I skimmed over it up to the part where it said that Josh Mandel has joined up as a cameo writer. Now I'm going to fap myself to sleep. I'm sorry I ever doubted you! $300 well invested! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! Anybody got some tissues?

That's probably because they are. It's safe to say that 99.99999999999(...)% of backers don't pay any attention to his (or the Two Guys') social media - least of all Twitter, which is the downfall of humanity, 140 characters or less at a time. But at least now I know where to look for some inside info.
-
Considering they coughed up half a million out of pure blind faith to give two has-beens another shot at reclaiming their former glory and - so far - getting nothing in return, yeah, being whiny, drama-loving little bitches is kinda justified. Which sucks, because you're the only person associated with this project with any sort of PR skillz. The problem is that you still post under your real name on Kickstarter, so everyone brushes you off as yet another deluded fanboi. Just ask Chris to finally hand you the keys to the Two Guys account already and things will look a lot different. You know, come to think of it, something cool that you could do would be to write a first-hand account on what it's like to play the early SV builds you've had access to. Accompany that with some pretty screenshots and you've got yourself an update that even the most ardent of naysayers will be salivating over!

Click me! (Trigger warning: Paul Trowe) No probs! Come to think of it, your addendum makes it look like I put a lot more effort into my swearing than I actually did. It will also greatly decrease the chances of my fellow posters developing carpal tunnel syndrome from excessive mousewheel scrolling. But could I please have the size 36 font on "FUUUUUUUUUUUU..." back? :P

Well, guess what they just put on facebook... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK, etc, etc (MI: Alright, obviously we're ok with a little potty mouth here but it doesn't need to be this excessive) I mean, they gotta be trollin' at this point! No way can they be that incapable by accident! tl;dr: FUCK!

Soo, hidden track on "Strobe Light"?

I know what you're talking about, which makes me an advanced-level NIN fan, I guess. ;) I'm more of a movie guy than a music guy. So most of the bands I listen to I got into because I heard one of their songs in a film and liked it. Same here, the song that lured me in was Closer (Precursor) AKA the SE7EN main titles song. I remember being at a local electronics store, looking for that particular song on one of the CDs. That's how I found The Downward Spiral. I remember wondering whether I should take the regular edition for €12 or the Deluxe Edition for €22. Ultimately, I settled on the Deluxe, because I figured there's a 99% chance that the version I was looking for might be a remix that would NOT be on the cheaper disc. And whaddya know, I was right! At first, I didn't care for the album proper at all. I skipped through the songs and figured that this was not for me at all. It was only when I took a look at the booklet that I decided to give it a second try. Then I realised what these songs were going for: The music worked perfectly as soundscapes that illustrated the album's bleak lyrics. And then I was hooked. I still consider The Downward Spiral my favourite NIN album, probably one of my favourite albums ever. Broken is a close second. That one was the one NIN record that felt the most "accessible" to me. Consider me officially jelly! I browse ebay for those on occasion (well, for Spiral and Broken mostly). I remember the guy who ran a site called nincollector auctioned all his stuff not too long ago. I had a bid on a huge collection of his music cassettes, but didn't win. :( Let's have it then! Maybe Ken Allen will also participate.

Took the words right out of my mouth. And that's all I have to say on the matter.

Actually, I should be the one apologizing. I only put that line in the title so that either you or MusicallyInspired would have to come clean up after me. Yup, I'm that much of an asshole!

Meh, at least you could‘ve given me a pity-like for linking to that awesome concert, you stingy fuck! :P Maybe just once, I‘ll not argue your opinion. Me not getting into the Atticus Ross-era stuff is mostly due to personal preference. The new albums just sound too MacBook-y to me. But I was a massive fan from 2005 to 2008 and went to quite a few of the Year Zero-themed concerts. I still have those merch tees that I never wore, but at least they‘re taking me back to that fun time in my life. The Year Zero alternate reality game was awesome, as was Reznor leaking a bunch of his older stuff on the Bay. Year Zero remains a great piece of Bush-era angst and IMHO constitutes Reznor‘s most successful attempt at rejuvenating NIN. This was followed up with him falling out with his label and releasing Ghosts. I still really dug NIN during this experimental phase. Then came The Slip. I don‘t want to dog on this one, as it was released as a freebie. But it felt like a massive step backwards - the lyrics felt like someone trying to write NIN stuff, but not quite getting it right, while the music delved further down into MacBook territory (this musical style was perfectly suited for Year Zero, but I wouldn‘t want "The Downward Spiral" to sound like this). And I have to admit that I didn‘t pay too much attention to anything that came afterwards. The remaster of PHM was a massive letdown, I listened to the 30 second samples of Hesitation Marks on amazon and figured this wasn‘t for me. But in this particular case, I‘d still say that diff‘rent strokes applies. PS: To make the connection to the Zappa thread: Didn‘t Reznor (try to) team up with Adrian Belew on one of the more recent tours? I seem to remember that they had planned that Belew joins their live line-up, but he couldn‘t for some reason...

A bunch of people like they‘re stuff... Everything after Year Zero With Teeth sucked. Discuss! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KhhwkvJT28 This live performance from '94 makes me cum hard! Self-Destruct-era NIN = best NIN. And this is Self-Destruct-era NIN at their bestest! Reznor must‘ve done a whole trainload of coke backstage, the guy‘s on fire here. The recording ain‘t half bad either. Highlights include complete and utter carnage during „Happiness In Slavery“, some guy from the audience getting his 15 seconds of fame by shouting abuse at the rest of the audience during „Down In It“ and some dumb bitch blocking the view during „Head Like A Hole“. If only I had been old enough to witness this glory for myself... I‘d probably be deaf today, but it would‘ve been worth it! edit: First user to link to the Broken movie wins a cookie! edit 2: Edited my post for further edge and because Frede didn't give me a like!

Excellent! Now all we need is our very own designated Nine Inch Nails thread and we should have the world of music of Space Questian fandom about covered! :D

Not to be snarky, but it really would be better. I mean, at this point, you're not going to convince anyone who thinks this project has gone down the shitter with mere words and all it's going to accomplish is that everyone thinks of the SQ community as deluded fanboiz. It really is entirely up to the two guys and the Pope to prove to everyone just how wrong they are. And it's going to take some solid proof at this point, either by releasing the game, or by providing an update that shows the progress that's been made made instead of telling about it. edit: Arrgh... couldn't resist the temptation! I left a comment on the KS page that ought to lift everyone's spirits! ;)

Phew, dodged that bullet! Thanks for clarifying, guys! As ill-advised Corey Cole‘s infamous pro-SJW update was, I have to agree with Troels here. Sure, the guy obviously didn‘t have a clue about what was going on and even said as much in the comment section. He read somewhere on Kotaku or RPS or some other shit rag that Gamergate was about teh harassment of women and went with that. Backers got pissed and gave him a lot of shit for it, some of them going as far as invoking „I wish I had never backed this!“ and „Refund nao!“. Kinda pissed me off, I mean, first of all, it's fucking Corey Cole, so you know his heart is in the right place and he means well. After all harrassing women - well, harrassing anyone! - is a pretty shitty thing to do. But what's much more important is that this poor motherfucker has literally put his life on the line so backers can play Hero-U! That IMHO far outweighs any display of naiveté on Mr Cole‘s part. Besides, his comments featured tons of nice tidbits like „All AAA-coverage is bought“ and going so far to strongly imply that sexual favours are commonplace in the industry, which every gamergater worth his salt ought to thank him on his hands and knees for. Gotta agree with tomimt, make this a good one, guys! Here are a few suggestions on how to put some of those worries at ease: - Do NOT mention the Unity update! It‘ll only worry dumb motherfuckers like me! - Do NOT, for the love of God, post any more Unity test videos! Does nothing but give off the impression that you guys are still on stage 1. - DO have a nice Ken Allen track available for download (SV main theme, or something like that, maybe a X-mas themed bonus track as well) - DO give backers the lowdown of the story! Fuck worrying about spoilers, what‘s important is that people get an idea that you have a story to tell, a clear goal and you are well underway in achieving that goal. If you‘re worried about spoilers, just tag that shit, so people can skip it. - Do give us a fuckton of in-game art (concept art should be avoided at this point), character bios and other visual aids to get a clear mental image of what this is going to be. - DO have a kickass teaser trailer ready, one that ends with a big bold „Coming in 2015“ (even if that turns out to be a massive fucking lie and the thing is actually released in 2016 - who the fuck cares, this is vidya gaems after all!) - DO go crazy and surprise the fans with some weird shit. Fuck meme regurgitations and the Two Guys doing teh funnie elf dance! Leave that shit to Anthony Burch! Time to bring out the quality stuff! I‘m talking „Fuck Dead Body“-promo poster levels of dementedness. I‘ll be happy to provide more unsolicited suggestions on how to handle the next update, I‘ll have to check out the previous updates first to note all the things that tend to rub people the wrong way. For now, the most important thing is that people see that the magic is still there.

Yeah, haven't checked out the SpaceVenture KS comment section since the last update. Everything about SV just depresses the fuck out of me, but for some reason this thread enticed me to check out the sentiments over at KS (which were already rather grim 2 months ago). A few comments I found noteworthy: Yeah, what this project needed was a strong leader. A true businessman, a real hardass. Someone who knows how to keep his bitches in line. He may be kind of an asshole and he may not be popular with everyone, but goddamn, he knows how to get shit done! You know, a guy like... Nah, let's not go there... Dude, open your eyes! It's already happening! edit: Can't say I know anything at all about Unity. But hearing something like "The new version of the engine just came out and it will give us teh awesum new opportunities!" makes my inner Ion Storm alarm bells blare. Using an updated version of Unity won't end in some sort of "We need to adapt our previous work to the new engine. No biggie, should be done by the end of the month!"-scenario, right?

Sierra may be coming back (New KQ Game)
