  1. Hey, all! I've been working on this game for a while now and I thought I'd share my progress in the form of a shiny new trailer! The game and story are inspired by a lot of modern sci-fi video games - like Halo, Mass Effect, Half-Life, and Starcraft (as well as Space Quest) so I thought I'd post it here for your thoughts. The actual progress of the game is something like this: Script/Programming: 95% (lots of debugging, polishing, and adding to do) Cut-scenes: 95% (over 40 minutes of video so far!) Sprites/Graphics: 95% Music/Sound: 15% Clean-Up: 2% So there's still quite a lot left to be done - especially in the music department since I'm terrible at writing music. So I will be recruiting musicians soon enough to get the rest of this game off the ground.
  2. Everybody's online everyday. Hell, my grandmother's on everyday. So where's your SQ fan-site? What do you update it with? Why are you complaining about SQ being dead, and then bad-mouthing Jess who figured it out years before you did? You don't have his charming personality either. It's important to note that Jess still has a lot of friends here in the SQ community, and he's a really great guy on top of that who now has a very busy and fulfilling life. So if he's not accepting any friend requests from random SQ fans he's never met, it's probably because he's moved on and doesn't want them to keep bugging him about the VB.
  3. We'll never know.
  4. I've sort of been doing that. I've been listening to AmayirotAkago's play-throughs on YouTube while working on my own game (multi-tasking!) It's interesting to revisit the oldies after all these years.
  5. I voted for SQ5 as well. It had a great supporting cast, and was probably the most fun to play. It was also very movie-like in it's presentation. Lots of dialogue, infiltrations, ambushes, rescues, awkward situations, etc. SQ3 and 4 would come in after that for me. Those two seem to stand alone, placing the SQ series in a completely different self-referential reality where Roger can rescue his own creators and time is measured in sequels. I've lowered SQ6 down my list a bit. It's still the funniest game by far, but the story seems to have too many holes in it and the characters are very under-used. I keep thinking Roger could've coerced Circuit Sydney into coming with him as a sidekick, and then kept salvaging Sydney for parts at every turn. SQ1 and 2 - still classics, of course.
  6. It would probably work too. Ever heard of X-Strike Studios? They're a group of people who make low-budget movies based on video games AND sell them online - and all they have to do is change all the names ("Metal Gear Solid" becomes "Project: Snake" and so on...)
