Calling all fans! ITS VIDEO TIMEZ!
Sir Procestuous replied to ChrisPope's topic in Andromedan Spaceport
Poor Chris having that deadline and all, but I figured I'd be nice and send my video to him last night, at 7 PM no less :P Perhaps I'll upload it to Youtube and add it to the fan-tasticness here :D -
Thanks for the kind words Spikey! It's great to be surround "virtually" by others who I have a kinship with, I just have to learn to spend less time as a lurker :P

I felt it only appropriate to dust off a few cobwebs and update slightly my personal section of a website my friend and I slapped together many moons ago [in 2009] https://sites.google.com/site/alanluckachina/

Calling all fans! ITS VIDEO TIMEZ!
Sir Procestuous replied to ChrisPope's topic in Andromedan Spaceport
What's the submission deadline time? Midnight I hope! I'd love to get my video recorded and uploaded ASAP, my friend has held my camera hostage and won't deliver it to me until I bring him an object he can easily get himself...or after he gets off work, then I can proceed to record once I get off work...damn real life for interfering :P Long story short, I hope the submission deadline is 5/11/12 at 11:59 pm :P -
Thank you very much for sharing those! It's incredible what washes up on the cyber shores every now and then. It was great seeing them again. Although I don't think I'd ever finish them in their current form; there's just too much I'd want to do differently now, I'd basically end up rewriting the whole thing anyway. SQ5 in particular just reads like a friggin' walkthrough. :) My pleasure, it was my pack rat philosophy with all things Space Quest back in the day that made it possible! I did at one point attempt to novelize Space Quest 4, but that project ended up evolving into it's own multi-story universe project that my friends joined in on that only resembles SQ4 if you know SQ4. Ironically enough, the main character, who happens to be an avid Sierra fan, never seems to make that connection

Since megaupload seems to be down and out, I had to search for an alternative, and I think I got it right. I put them is a RAR file and uploaded them to here: https://rapidshare.com/files/4085825186 ... Novels.rar May the nostalgia be great and the embarrassment minimal! ;) They are very well written! Who knows when the muse will decide to bite again :)

Awesome work Troels! One thing I really enjoyed about it was that it was creative and put a unique spin on certain events instead of just being an exact translation of the events of the games, which I also liked about the Companion as well. But having said that, I like how the official guide had Roger tell the two guys about his adventures whereas the Companion didn't. And, as it turns out I actually have the unfinished SQ3 & 5 Novels in my collection, I was in the habit of collecting almost anything SQ related that I came across back in the day, and I remember they were posted very briefly, so naturally I snatched them lol I'd be happy to send them your way if you'd like

What are some of your favorite fan fics? I really enjoyed the "Future's History" stories, as well as the novelization of "The Sarien Encounter". I remember years back there were some unfinished novelizations of SQ3 & 5 posted on the VB, I wonder if they were ever finished...

Space Quest XII: Vohaul's Revenge II
Sir Procestuous replied to DrSlash's topic in World O' Fan Wonders
Finished the demo. Thought it was pretty cool, looking forward to the full game. It would be cool if you had to track Roger in Space Quest 3, 5, and 6 at some point, maybe get your ass kicked by Stellar in SQ6, or have the Pukoids give you trouble in Space Quest 5 -
Space Quest XII: Vohaul's Revenge II

Finally able to get back to playing this after being pre-occupied with VSB, Incinerations, and TSL Ep 4! I found the wire I need, but I can't seem to connect it to any of the LAN ports -
Played through SQ3 WITHOUT playing Astro Chicken and discovering the encoded distress message? Roger will go through the game having no idea why he's doing what he's doing

Now I need a hint on how to scan the Super Computer complex. I got the keycard, and found the spaceboy... -
Space Quest XII: Vohaul's Revenge II
Sir Procestuous replied to DrSlash's topic in World O' Fan Wonders
I just downloaded and playing right now, it's pretty fun. Is there anything to do in SQ2 or is that where the game ends right now? It was cool the way you can die in the other SQ games btw! Good job so far! -
I hate to resurrect a semi long-dead topic, but Akril you wouldn't happen to remember the title and author of the fanfic you mentioned about Roger being tormented would you? Sounds like an intriguing read indeed!

Glad to be of help! ;)

Wow! A Lot of nostalgia here! I'll have to dig through my CDs and DVDs and see if I have any of these saved. I do believe I still have the Space Quest 13 trailer. And I was actually the one who made the "Wilco to the Future" picture, it was just a quickie done in paint, not near the quality of some of the better entries, unfortunately it got lost in the archives of time. I remember after the first contest, someone made a program that was like a first-person museum, where you could walk through and see all the contest entries, I was hoping a revised version adding the entries from the second contest would be done, but as far as I know it never was :D I believe I have a bunch of the pictures from SQ1-5 being remade with the SQ6 look as well...I'll do some looking... Love your fangames by the way sledgy!

One of the funniest aspects of the SQ series is it's treatment of it's protagonist, Roger Wilco, who we all know is slightly inept, and a bit of an idiot. But was he always? Space Quest 1 portrays Roger as a lazy, clumsy janitor who would much rather nap in dark closets than do any actual cleaning, the jokes seem to be on how you, the player are the idiot, rather than Roger himself. The same can be said of Space Quest 2. Space Quest 3 has a few cracks about Roger being clumsy and a bit of a wuss, but not really shown to be an idiot. Just a guy who gets very lucky without really trying Space Quest 4 has a few cracks about Roger being slightly dimwitted, courtesy of our friend Gary Owens, but again, most of the cracks seem to be about Roger being a clumsy wuss. Space Quest 5 shows Roger to be sure of himself, a bit cocky, and even intelligent at certain moments, however, still very clumsy. Space Quest 6 is where we really see "idiot Roger", and he's entertaining and fun, but does he seem like the same guy who defeated the Sariens, Vohaul twice, pulled the plug on the pukoids, and infiltrated ScumSoft?
