May 5, 201214 yr comment_2305 Hi, gang. Well, seeing as the SQ.net merger is running along pretty smoothy, and is already shaping up to be the one-stop shop for Space Quest/Spaceventure/2GFA news, I couldn't be happier. It does, however, leave my little Google+ experiment in a bit of a limbo. At this point, it's practically a news service on its own, and I don't want it to take attention away from SQ.net - but rather let it work together with it. I was thinking, since Frans is already running the Twitter portion as @SpaceQuestNet, maybe I should rename the Google+ space to "SpaceQuest.net: The Virtual Broomcloset" and let it be the "official" Google+ outlet for the Space Quest community? That is, of course, with Frans' permission and the encouragement of the community. Otherwise, I'll just keep trudging along as per usual. ;) All the best, Troels Report
May 5, 201214 yr comment_2307 Hmm, I rather like that you're posting as Roger Wilco, so I would keep that angle. Using the recent controversy as an example, you can get away with writing stuff on that page that Frans wouldn't write on the website. Of course, you guys could still make arrangements so the G+ page could be a sanctioned outlet for SQ.Net, but either way, stay with the Roger Wilco-angle. It's refreshing, more personal (and thus, more social network-friendly) and often quite funny. Report
May 5, 201214 yr comment_2314 Frans wants to make a page with all the relevant Twitter feeds, etc. So we'll probably find a way to integrate it on there...once I figure out how it should look. Report

May 12, 201214 yr comment_2715 Hey guys, Troels, go right ahead and write Google+ a new orifice. Personally, I'd love to see any fan contribution / addition to be united under one banner. So if you're not willing to post articles on SQN, I hope you could supply your article with a pointer to SQN. ... Which reminds me... Any hope of annexing the Many Death of Roger Wilco? I suppose our broom closet is large enough for it. Any thoughts? Report

Which reminds me... Any hope of annexing the Many Death of Roger Wilco? I suppose our broom closet is large enough for it. Any thoughts? It can work, though it might be nice to get Jeysie's permission. :y: Report
May 12, 201214 yr Author comment_2735 So if you're not willing to post articles on SQN, I hope you could supply your article with a pointer to SQN. Ah, but sir, you misunderstand me (or maybe I'm just not getting the joke). My dilemma stems from having created the G+ page way before all this wonderful SQN/Broomcloset merger happened, and I am now faced with having two news outlets. My solution was to, maybe, rename the G+ page so that it was a subsidiary (of sorts) to SQN -- i.e., the G+ page would be like the @SpaceQuestNet Twitter-feed. Then Olzen and the others said that it was more fun if I carried on with the G+ page as my personal SQ outlet -- which I interpreted as saving my SQN news updates for really big stuff. This probably all stems from us not having an agreement on what constitutes "newsworthy" on SQN. I mean, on the G+ page, as you have probably noticed, I'll post any random bullshit that drops into my conscience. Hell, that was the purpose of the whole thing, before the Two Guys reunion and all this SpaceVenture malarky ever happened -- the point back then was to just post screenshots of past glories and reminisce in a wistful way about them. :) So, up until now, I have been saving my SQN news posting for the "big league," and have been using G+ for all the "fan stuff" and the general excitement I feel. Much like a mini-blog, really. I am more than up for making the G+ page "a part of" the SQN network -- that was the original intent behind my posting this topic. On the other hand, like with Colin's new SQ7 museum, I find it's more fun (and that was the feedback I got from this page as well) if the G+ page had a "personal voice," a "curator" if you wish. Let me know your thoughts on what you want to do. Space Quest needs a Google+ presence, period -- as far as I'm concerned -- and I'm more than willing to carry on doing what I'm doing, under any banner. It's a pity that G+ won't let multiple people be administrators of a G+ Page, really. Which reminds me... Any hope of annexing the Many Death of Roger Wilco? I suppose our broom closet is large enough for it. Any thoughts? That's a really good idea. Where's Jeysie when you need her? Report
