To identify Gabe, just give him his trench coat. Any chance of doing the Two Guys from Andromeda? I think that'd be awesome.

How do you do those? Those are so great!

Introduce Yourself!
How are all of you so freaking young and know what Space Quest is? Sheesh! Where's my walker! Name's Tawmis. I'm 42. And I have a drinking pro - wait, no - wrong place. Anyway, been a huge Sierra fan thanks to my best friend at the time's father (wow, does that even make sense? The father of my best friend at the time, would have been much easier and made more sense!) - introduced me to King's Quest 1. Ironically the KQ1 he showed me booted from 5.25" drink and only displayed in _4_ colors. (Though his computer could do more than 4 colors... I've never been able to find any reference to this KQ). Anyway, it blew me away how it was "3D" - in that your characters could walk around the enviroment (trees and such). Then he later showed me LSL1, and man, that was right up my alley (even at that young age!) I instantly became addicted to all things Sierra. I could ramble about it more, but I won't bore everyone. ("Too late!")

My SQ Horror Story - :( :( :(
I'd say up your pledge by the amount you're willing to pay. This will help fun SpaceVenture. If SpaceVenture doesn't get funded, then you lose no money - and can, at that time, purchase SQ. (Side note, I feel sorry - and you're taking it WAY better than I would. I have all my Sierra games in plastic bins, that are covered - often sold around Christmas time at Target - big bins).

Strategies for Upping Pledges?
I probably would not have known about the SpaceVenture, had it not been for the forums... I knew of the LSL one, because I am friends with Al Lowe on FB... Knew about SpaceVenture and Jane Jensen's because they were posted on a forum (SierraHelp.com) - well, technically, I knew of the SpaceVenture KS campaign - only because the Two Guys site had been posted, so I had been on it (then their FB page for it). And as a result of me know, I pledged 50+ to Jane and LSL and 100+ to SpaceVenture. If you can reach just ONE person, it might be worth it. And having companions with you, upselling it (rather than you fighting the fight alone) always helps. Because, in the end, it certainly won't hurt.

Controversy- Paul Trowe on the Two guys
An Admin can slap a lock on the thread and move it (where no one can see it), and I'd be very okay with that, personally.

They really are. When I bought them for these photos - I figured I'd eat one. I nearly vomitted. Not even kidding. Twinkies are disgusting. (Why couldn't it be Ding Dongs, or something??) But it was well worth it, for all the photos I took - to do these silly pictures. Though, on FB, they're not reposting them like they did initially, which is kind of a bummer.

Strategies for Upping Pledges?
We can also help one another spread the word. If there's forums you frequent, that you can post about this - do so. Then post the link here. Some of us could join the forum, and discuss SpaceVenture on that forum, and possibly generate more interest in potential backers.

Controversy- Paul Trowe on the Two guys
I am with Irishmile on this one. The internet is awesome. It connects so many people. But it also bleeds out in "He said, she said" type of thing. I am more than sure, it was no always roses and rainbows, even back in the day of the original Sierra. But we were blissfully ignorant of any "drama" due to lack of the "internet" back then.

Situation of rights for Space Quest
Like I said, I am fine with it not being "Space Quest." I am fine with it being "SpaceVenture" staring some new character, with the same silliness that the previous Space Quest games had. (Even if it's not silly - and more of a serious game! But really - it's the TGfA - it's probably going to be silly!) That's all I care about! The game could be called "SpaceVenture" and star a former Spaceball Champion by the name of "Fergus Funk" and I would be all over this - just because it's the Two Guys From Andromeda. I mean technically, the first Space Quest wasn't even about Roger Wilco. It could be whoever you named the character. It only "defaulted" to Roger Wilco if you pressed ENTER and didn't give the character a unique name! :)

Situation of rights for Space Quest
I am so fine with them making a SpaceVenture game instead of Space Quest. I seriously hope people don't get hung up on the fact it might not "Space Quest."

Ken Williams supports The Two Guys
See, it's that type of stuff that really needs to happen. Getting their name and KS campaign plastered on the front pages of popular websites.

Ken Williams supports The Two Guys
That's pretty awesome. What needs to happen to gain velocity is getting the Two Guys interviewed on various websites... Al Lowe and LSL and such got on Forbes, Gamusutra, etc etc - we need the Two Guys to do the same. (Also a very common theme I have seen in the forum postings as I attempt to spread the word, and see other threads others have done) - is people wanting more information about "the space adventure." They're saying there's too little info. So I think if they expanded on what type of game, what they want to do, and such - it'd greatly inspire people to donate to the cause, rather than just saying, "We need this much to make a space venture game for you - the fans."

TV shows
Well the last scene - that person that shows up - is also in the comics.
