Well, I think the main "non-Sierra" thing, besides the display of speech, is the lack of dead-ends. In my opinion, that's a good thing.

Another upcoming fangame just popped up at the AGS forums: http://www.bigbluecup.com/yabb/index.php?topic=45076.0 Expected release date is Q1 for the first chapter. The author describes the graphics as like SQ2 (AGI) but with a GUI instead of a parser interface, so there's that. I'm all for Space Quest games of any type, though. Yay, more fangames! (Y)

Yeah, remakes are nice, but original games are even better. (Y) VSB is also probably the largest as far as rooms/playtime. It still takes me about 1-2 hours to complete, running through as fast as I can. I'm also under the impression there are a lot more references in it than other Space Quests, though that may just be me being aware of putting them in.

I don't disagree that we've lost a lot of cool people, but hopefully as I said it will encourage others that SQ fangames can be completed and bring more people in. (Y)

Yeap, with two fangames coming out over a holiday I would have expected the JT to be more active than it did. But probably most people aren't constantly refreshing the forums... I hope this inspires other authors to come out of the woodwork, though.
