High Resolution scans of Space Quest background art.
pcj replied to Dreams's topic in Starcon Academy
There was also the original art from the SQ4 box that was sold on eBay during the KS project. But yeah I bet they'd go for a lot. -
Not to my knowledge, that would go against everything they've said in the past. Not to mention I don't think he even has it all in a state that would be easy to release as a demo. And Sledgy, stop posting false rumors. Last warning.

Well to be fair, those use DOSBox, he specifically said "other than DOSBox".

Cool! Now change KQ5 to make Cedric less annoying.

That wasn't the only time it happened in the SQ series though. SQ2 reset the accomplishments of SQ1. You could argue SQ5 is the one that reset SQ4's accomplishments as well. In which case SQ6 actually reset SQ5's accomplishments. I think the point the Two Guys were trying to get across is that Roger was always destined to be a loser no matter how well he did. ("Life sucks, again."). More characters is certainly a departure from previous SQs, though Sludge Vohaul pretty much came out of nowhere as the big bad of SQ2. Well, that lack of a resolution is hardly the fault of SQ6. They probably expected to tie that up in SQ7. (The fan game Incinerations provides a decent resolution to the Stellar/Bea thing BTW).

Your SpaceVenture App store submissions go here!
pcj replied to ChrisPope's topic in Andromedan Spaceport
It's an interesting idea. I just don't think we were looking for that sort of meta humor there. -

Made-up apps for the in-game universe. -
This looks sweet! Nice work.

Speaking for myself I'd certainly want the sarcastic narrator approach we saw throughout the SQ series, which Gary Owens did so well. I wouldn't particularly want someone trying to imitate Gary Owens, but a similar voice could work as long as they were doing their own thing and it didn't sound forced.

I think it could allow for some cool puzzle elements, much like the Two Guys are doing with Ace and Rooter. Just not sure what that companion would be for Roger.

Split this off into its own topic.

Heh, knowing Baggins he probably just copied that from the SQ1 infobox.
-
According to the Slashdot announcement post it seems to have always been bundled with NAGI. I don't remember ever seeing a copy of SQ0 that wasn't. I think part of the problem is that SQ0 wasn't written for anything like the IBM 5170, it was designed for an early 2000s computer using an old-style interpreter that was updated to be able to use more memory.

They do push back into other rooms, generally the next time lightning strikes and causes static they will have disappeared from the room you flashed the light in. The current battery usage is indicated by the color (green = low, yellow = medium, red = high). It does take a bit of testing to figure out the best strategy. The shields only really come into play after night 3. I don't really see that as a "mode" as much as enforcing the need for the lights/night vision.

Linux: Cameras do not show
pcj replied to tcriess's topic in Cluck Yegger in Escape from the Planet of the Poultroid
Okay, sounds like some of the glitch effects are not working properly on the Linux build. Will review that. Thanks. -

Going to need the crash report folder as it indicates. -
Linux download
pcj replied to jdb's topic in Cluck Yegger in Escape from the Planet of the Poultroid
Thanks for the note. As I replied on Kickstarter it looks like the server is automatically uncompressing the file before downloading it to you. Hopefully it's not a huge deal but we are working on a resolution. -
Speaking as one of the VSB leads, they're certainly two different games. I felt VSB stuck more closely to the Space Quest style, whereas Incinerations took Space Quest off into a new direction. So I would say VSB is probably the better sequel, but Incinerations is likely the better game for being able to stand on its own.
