Pledge Quest II: Noodle Shop of Horrors has arrived!

Vohaul's disguise also made me laugh out loud. That joke was just executed really well :) -
I completed "Journey" today. As far as art games go, this is it. I'm not afraid to admit it really moved me a lot, and if art is measured in emotional resonance, then this is definitely the best work of art I've ever experienced. It's been described by some reviewers as a "religious experience". Seems far-fetched, but in my opinion, that's actually pretty accurate. It's a short game (calling it a "game" is a bit too shallow), but it just touches you somehow. Apart from that, I finally hauled myself through "Portal 2". Another great experience and also among the best games I've ever played. Along with that, I've been playing "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City". Both of which are also great, great games. If you've ever wanted to feel like Batman, those two games should satisfy you.

Good point. What we need is someone normal.

Wouldn't say I've lost interest. I just think we need a special guest or another twist that'll keep it fresh. I suggested on Twitter that Jeysie could join for a Space Quest Deaths Hangout where we try to kill off Roger in every possible way in our respective games. Dunno if you like that idea. I'm aware we still need to redo the last Hangout, but that one needs a special guest to help it stay interesting, I think. I'm also AWOL from these till my WiFi works properly, obviously. But that shouldn't take too long to deal with. When that's woeked out, I'm in :)

I agree, and I'm forced to postpone as well. My connection sucks, I'm not an admin on the G+ page (TROOOOOEEEELSSSS!!!) and my girlfriend needs to use the computer for her work. So let's wait till the beginning of next month, shall we? And let's see if we can lure Roses, LordKaT or someone else in there.
-
Well, so far, I count four other participants, but no special guest. So what do you guys think? Is it today or later? If the former, I will be able to host it at the usual time, which means roughly four hours later than the last one. I'm on my phone, so no world clock doohickey...

In that case, good luck with your move :) When exactly are we going to do this? It's not official till someone (cough, cough) has screwed up the time zones.

Himalaya Studios' Mage's Initiation - Kickstarter

EDIT: Never mind. All the rambling came down to "She doesn't offend me, I don't believe in either hyper-sexualisation or total de-sexualisation of women and I agree with Dan" anyway. -
Hmm, tricky one. I'm somewhat game for the 23rd, but my Wi-Fi adapter is still acting up quite often. As I did last time, I can tether from my phone without using more bandwidth than my data plan allows, but I'm not sure if it's the best connection for something like this. At least, I got the impression it wasn't up to snuff last time. Make of that what you will. If the rest of you decide to do it on the 23rd, I can be there, but I'd personally prefer to wait till March where I'll have purchased a proper Wi-Fi adapter...

Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand were not exactly a sci-fi directors either. Nor has Lawrence Kasdan written other sci-fi scripts than Episode V and VI. The former, especially, turned out very well. And the climactic duel about the Death Star in Return of the Jedi is still one of my favourite film scenes of all time. If pressed, I'll even take Ewoks over Gungans any day. No offence, penguinfan, but by the logic of what Gareth has quoted above, the Prequels should have been excellent because George Lucas had a number of sci-fi films under his belt. In my view, that was not the case... ;) I too enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine, and I think choosing Arndt is a very intriguing move. I'd have been worried if they had chosen a well-established sci-fi writer who'd try to throw everything but the kitchen sink in there, as far as exotic aliens, technology and lightsaber battles go. After three films consisting largely of overblown CG and wooden acting, Star Wars very much needs the human touch and the drama back. And Arndt has certainly proved himself capable of handling those.

ur juzt sayian dat cuz ur not vergen :( Nah, true that.

Guess that's the most logical option. Cool fans he's gotten himself there. Disabling the comments might be a good idea, if it becomes a reccuring issue. I'm not offended by those comments, but life is so much easier when you don't have to deal with douchebags.
-
On that note, can someone explain to me what the heck is going on in the YouTube comments for ? Not sure if those guys are trying to be hostile, funny or just... weird.

DOSBox is cross-platform. So is ScummVM, if that supports Jones. I'll be there and I'm planning to rediscover my love for LSL5 :)
-
In that case, I will be there to play Leisure Suit Larry, crack stupid jokes and promote the hell out of the Space Posse. And yes, I seem to be doing the latter already.

The Sunday time you posted sounds fine with me.

I'd personally prefer Saturday. So maybe another week? Unless we can do it about 2-4 hours earlier tomorrow. Then it might work.
-
Cleared with my girlfriend as well. She actually insisted I participate, so I'll be there :)
-
Maybe.

Pledged $30 myself, but I'm also very tempted to go for the vinyl. Might be easier for me to justify spending that amount of money if I do it near the end of the campaign, or when it reaches the first stretch goal. But yeah, if we really do get to perform on Space Questin', I so want to have that performance on an actual record!
-
Yeah, that's great interview :) I'm looking forward to it surpassing the 2K mark as well. Not only because that means Troels, Brandon, James Mulvale and I will get to participate directly, but because Ken genuinely deserves it!

I second that completely. Mainly based on "Star Trek", without which I wouldn't much of a fan of that franchise. That film obviously had its fair share of CGI shots, but I was under the impression there were lots of practical effects as well, and ultimately, the acting and chemistry between the actors were what made that film truly great. The Prequels were the exact opposites of that approach. I'm also thrilled that Lawrence Kasdan is on board as a consultant on the films that he is not actually writing. Part of me is obviously still skeptical, but at the same time, I have really high hopes now. You're right that anything would be better than the Prequels, but to me, it really looks like they're pulling out all the stops. And last, but not least, I assume that by getting another consultant, they're effectively reducing Lucas' input even more. They probably haven't hired Kasdan only to turn down all of his input in favour of whatever Lucas may come up with. That's a really good sign, in my opinion, and if Kasdan still has the ability to come up with another "The Empire Strikes Back" or "Raiders of the Lost Ark", there is no way this won't be awesome.

I'll certainly say that about all of the threads I was involved in...

I don't know who is running the Geocities.ws archive project, but I will be eternally grateful to them for saving this little gem from extinction: http://www.geocities...don/index2.html Does anyone else remember this? I have very fond memories of laughing hysterically at this "sight". The music on his "reevews"- and "leenks"-pages alone would usually make me laugh till tears were running down my cheeks. Don't know if I'm alone in that respect, but as you know, I like re-visiting the old days and for some reason, I really have missed this misspelled atrocity. Don't bother digging up the old SubChan thread that accompanied this, though. I ruined that one as well.

That's true. Count me in for the usual time!
