  1. Absolutely. If someone could edit together some highlights, that'd be great for that purpose. I see the Hangout had quite a few followers on YouTube, which surprised me, but four hours is probably too extreme for all but the die-hards. It didn't feel like four hours, though. It wasn't till daylight started streaming in at around four in the morning that I realised where this was going. We even went on for a bit after the YouTube stream had reached its time limit. It was 7 AM here when I left, so I've hardly slept!
  2. I'll admit, I ended up not really playing much, but Scott turning up was huge. More than often, I found myself not being able to concentrate on the games because I wanted to hear the stories he told. This guy really knows how to tell an anecdote, and there must be a ton of laughs in that video. Probably one of the funniest things I've ever participated in, and well worth losing a night's sleep over. You guys make for some hilarious company, and I'd be very willing to do it again sometime.
  3. Same here. Hope you win!
  4. I can spare this much. I'm in.
  5. Not a fan at all, I'm afraid. Granted, I own an old iPod which continues to serve me well (though rarely, now that I subscribe to Spotify) and I have considered whether my next laptop should be a Macbook, or even a Macbook Air. I like the design of those things, their reliability and the stability of the OS and the Air is a great little machine. Thing is... I dislike their business practices, that they seem to pretend every computer user has to be a complete idiot and that they're spreading the idea that Steve Jobs created a lot more than he actually did. Really, he was just a shrewd businessman. He got inspired by ideas, he stole ideas, he expanded on them, but it honestly doesn't seem like he ever invented anything. I don't like the cult of personality that somehow built itself around that guy. I'll give you that those self-appointed missionaries from either camp can be annoying as hell, though personally, I have yet to encounter any Android fans that are as rabid as those of Apple. I love Android because it's so customisable and lets me do what I want to do, but I don't go preaching about it. Unless someone is trying to shove his/her iPhone down my throat. Which, again, happens all too often.
  6. There are quite a few negative comments on the update page and in the YouTube comments. People feeling hurt either because they've always paid for the games, or because they feel entitled to pirate the games. I didn't actually watch it till now. However, my gut feeling was that the people offended by this were seriously overreacting, and I can now see I was right. I find it completely idiotic that anyone would ever perceive this as a serious attack. Even if it was, I can't see the major issue with it. If you feel hurt, then that's because you once did something that is a crime, even though copyright legislation may be archaic. The least you can do is to admit you've done it. Not throw the ball back to the guys who're making a joke at your expense. You can definitely tell no one's making games that take the piss out of the player anymore.
  7. I've always thought PQ4 was quite underrated. It's not perfect, but for some reason, I like the gritty style. My SQ collection consists of the 2006 Collection, so there's really not much to show. I never managed to track down any of the original games here in the rotten state of Denmark, so I'm looking forward to receiving my physical SpaceVenture package. It has been ages since I last held a big computer game box in my hands. And of course, it'll be the first time for me, SQ-wise.
  8. It was indeed a huge potential threat. That's all I can say. And we should be very glad the potential crisis has been averted. Of course, since the issue has been solved, the press coverage should get a lot more intense from now on, meaning that they might just manage to reach the 5K afterall :)
  9. I agree. I gave up about six minutes into it because I just wanted to play. Even though I find Scott and Mark's full-disclosure relationship with us fans very commendable and sympathetic, 23 minutes is overdoing it, in my opinion. The prototype, however, is the bee's knees. I'm also thrilled to see that it has some replay value this time, as I have only found one of the three promised death sequences.
  10. Off the top of my head, here are a few free ones I use often: DSK Brass DSK Mini DrumZ 2 (vintage drum machine sampler) DSK Strings eSLine (Solina simulator) Majken's Chimera (great softsynth for more ambient stuff) MinimogueVA MrRay73 (very convincing Fender Rhodes simulator) LUCEifer (Polymoog simulator) SxMJune (Moog/ARP-ish synth) tb_tapeworm (a great Mellotron simulator) As you can tell, I'm a sucker for vintage synth sounds.
  11. BENI, I guess.
  12. Reminds me, Scott tweeted some awesome behind-the-scenes info to pcj and I yesterday. Thought I'd gather it here.
  13. I enjoyed it. It got a lot of thrills and laughs out of me for sure. I did have some minor gripes though.
  14. Scott, especially, comes off as a bit timid when they finally greet each other, after the dream sequences. Which makes me think that this must be actual footage of his arrival in Eugene. Mark's warm welcome and "say hello to the camera!" also come off as genuine. Plus, Scott is wearing glasses, which he wasn't in any of the staged stuff. That's the sort of touching part of the video, in my opinion. You can see that they're both a bit taken aback by those old bonds suddenly being mended. Online correspondance is one thing, but walking up and greeting one another was the baptism of fire.
  15. Well said. I love Chrome. In my view, the problem is largely that gamers can be some of the most bitchy and pedantic people you'll ever encounter. I'm not sure if you're referring to my post, or to the whole mess in general, but my personal point was that the Two Guys' should only make it non-browser based to avoid those people getting it wrong again. I couldn't give a rat's ass if it ran in IE, really. It's the Two Guys! Which makes it all the more unfortunate that I don't have $500,000 to spare :P
  16. Can't afford it right now, but I'll probably cave in and get it at some point. It annoys me a bit that there's no demo readily available; I'm not sure my laptop can even handle it. Fantasy doesn't really grab me, and neither do most RPGs, but "Diablo II" was a welcome exception. If the sequel is as good, I'd probably enjoy that too.
  17. Well, when you Google "chicken hat", you get this as one of the results: Can be purchased here.
  18. That was brilliant. Can't think of anything else to write.
  19. I think the Guys know their next demo will have to be truly special. Here's hoping they'll make it playable without a browser, just so we avoid that discussion slowing everything down again. And, like other people on the Kickstarter are saying, they truly need to do some actual press.
  20. I wish I could increase mine, but considering I'm currently paying off some old debt and will be getting contacts soon, it's probably not gonna happen. Better safe than sorry. The final run on PayPal may change things, though.
  21. Yeah, the SQ5 beta was even the first version of the game I played. When the 2006 Collection came ouy and it suddenly became feasible for me to buy the retail version, I had a hard time getting used to the different "Captain's Log" in the intro and James T. Quirk being called Raems T. Quirk.
  22. Thank you, Ken! I kinda figured; otherwise, you probably wouldn't have shown up ;)
  23. Still love 'em! Incidentally, these machinimas basically landed Tawmis the role of Roger Wilco in VSB, so you can look forward to hearing more from him there :)
  24. Now, that would be pretty sweet! If we could somehow embed those hangouts on SQN, it would make for a pretty nifty site feature as well, and a quite innovative way to incorporate the social networks. And finally it could serve as a nice selling point for your +Roger Wilco profile as well, if you choose to host the hangouts.
