  1. Well, I did a partial cover of the SQ12 fanfare (the tune that plays after you've defeated Vohaul). We used it in "Vohaul Strikes Back" - incidentally, I hope you're pro-fangames, Ken. Never wanted to step on anyone's toes, but you can't have a "Space Quest"-game without some of these themes :) I also hope the other VSB guys won't mind me using the server for this... Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here you go: http://www.sqvsb.com...Music/Xenon.ogg
  2. It's a brilliant remake, though I also liked the one IA released a few years back. Apart from KQ6, I'm not a really a huge fan of that series, but the AGD remakes are works of art. KQII+ is undeniably one of my favourite adventure games of all time.
  3. There's also ScummVM which currently supports all the games apart from SQ6. It even features a few cool tweaks, like basic mouse support in the AGI games. I haven't tried them myself, but apparently, there are ports for OSX and iOS readily available. If you choose to go with DosBox, I'll also recommend that you visit http://sierrahelp.com/ as that site features some usable fixes for the errors that often snuck into the original game files.
  4. Thankyou. I was quite surprised that KQ3Redux didn't actually win any awards. I loved that game - including your music, Brandon. Thrilled that Akril won for Best Animation, though - again, congratulations. And I'm hoping to see "Incinerations" pull a "Gemini Rue" at next year's awards.
  5. This sample does sound brilliant, Alistair. Looking forward to hearing the complete soundtrack. Will you be doing a lossless version as well?
  6. To follow up on my last post, I ended up pledging $130 to get the physical package along with the digital goodies; the $115 option just felt like the right one for me. If I can afford it, I may raise my pledge to $165 to get the T-shirt, but this will certainly do. As a matter of interest, are any of you guys among the $1000+ backers? I'm also more than a little thrilled that the names of us backers will be included in the game credits :)
  7. Will definitely have to buy that down the line. I never really got into the QfG series, so better late than never, and as I have stated elsewhere, I love GOG. Now, can we have an LSL collection that includes the LSL6 talkie and LSL7 and thus isn't a total ripoff!
  8. I think I'm aiming for $100 after looking at the reward list. Even if I may have to deal with customs, I want the physical reward tier package. I'll probably have to wait a bit before pledging that amount, but considering how low the American dollar is these days, $100 isn't going to wreck my personal economy (or lack thereof, rather).
  9. Aww, and I haven't heard all of part 2 yet! Nah, seriously, thanks for sharing - looking forward to hearing it :)
  10. I renewed my "Fallout"-addiction this weekend. I'd completely forgotten just how nightmarish some of this music is. I'm not afraid to admit that some of these cues still give me the chills, and honestly, I think most of the eerie atmosphere of the first two games can be attributed to Mark Morgan's soundtracks. They really do evoke the feeling of a scorched Earth.
  11. I did quite a few takes, most of them ending prematurely due to bloopers. Was a fun little exercise, though; it is indeed difficult to boil your affection for SQ down to 60 seconds.
  12. Well, I turned in mine. I have an aversion to webcams as well; whenever there's one around, my eyes dart around, I get nervous and my English completely degenerates. Oh, well - still usable, I hope.
  13. I'm all for a tablet port, as long as they keep the tablet experience somewhat separate from the desktop experience. I may appear a tad too conservative, but in my view, a lot of good games are being dumbed down on all platforms to ensure they work well on a tablet. I think that's a huge shame, and I don't want "SpaceVenture" to fall victim to this fad.
  14. That's how we define "promotion" ourselves, so once again, thankyou :D
  15. *head explodes* This is a good time to be a fan.
  16. It seems I underestimated mr. Trowe immensely. Kudos to you, Paul - as we all know, it takes some serious balls to ask for forgiveness like that. Hope you stick around in some capacity :) Now, I realise the following is quite irrelevant now, but I just want to clear something up... I know Paul Trowe doesn't have anything to do with Activision. I was trying to stress how glad I am that the Guys have opted to stay in charge, rather than cutting a deal with Activision or the like. I've still got quite a way with words, huh? ;)
  17. Paul Trowe's bitterness makes it perfectly clear why the Two Guys shouldn't want to take part in Sierra 2.0. That infamous Scott Murphy-interview - the one Mark Crowe ended up reading prior to their reconciliation - included some very candid stuff about how Ken Williams practically shoved the point-'n'-click interface down their throats for SQ4. They wanted to do another parser game. In this day and age, Scott and Mark don't need Ken Williams, Paul Trowe or some suit from Activision breathing down their necks and potentially stifling their creativity. They can finally retain total control over their upcoming products. I don't want to disrespect Al or Josh, but if I were a developer, I would go for Scott and Mark's approach.
  18. Somewhere within the $10-50 zone for starters, although that's just the safe option. I'd love to donate more, and chances are that I'm going to. Either way, being a student without a job on the side, my donation probably won't tip the scale too much, but I do want to help them out with what I can afford.
  19. FM80? Wow, it's really been a while. Welcome back!
  20. It's a pair of Great Tits, isn't it? Yes, I cheated by editing it, I know.
  21. I love it. Also, while the links in the desciption are indeed broken, thanks for supporting VSB and SQInc :) In fact, I'd suggest that you team up with Chris and do a novelisation of SQInc. Your writing style fits perfectly.
  22. Holy hell, you returning people keep surprising me! Welcome back ;)
  23. I think Chris was mainly making light of the fact that when when all these games were released, SQ2+ seemed to get most of the attention, even though people had been pining for a sequel for more than a decade at that point. They got two, and they still preferred nostalgia :) This is not to be interpreted as resentment, though. IA did a great job with SQ2+, and VSB and SQInc have since gotten some great promotion ;)
  24. Yay, friended! As far as I know, my username is just Frederik Olsen - that's originality for you.
  25. Last night, I ended up buying the "LucasArts Classic Adventure Pack" on Steam, so I've now got "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis", "Loom" and "The Dig" to go through. "Loom" and FoA are among some of my favourite games, but I've never really given TLC a change and not even played "The Dig." So I'm now playing the latter. So far, it's fantastic. Spielberg's concept arguably did deserve to be made into more than "just" a computer game.
