Josh Mandel's writing style is very drastically different from that of the Two Guys... But I don't think that necessarily makes it bad.

I remember you gave up outright. I mean, I had trouble with Space Quest 6 too, but wow... Rather surprising performance from the custodian of the Virtual Broomcloset. ;)

It seems there are many different versions of Space Quest 6, so differences in the point list may also depend on which version of the game you happen to have.

Always verify something for yourself before making or accepting claims. This seems to be especially true for Space Quest 5, where there are many differences between the beta and official versions. There's actually a death in Space Quest 3 which Jeysie somehow managed to miss, though it wasn't for lack of trying. If you return to Ortega after you blow up the shields, you'll die.

There are also a number of Space Quest 2 edits out there, such as SQ2 Eye (you might have caught a glimpse of mjomble playing it during the first hangout), and this one edit that I made over ten years ago (I urge you very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very strongly not to play that one).

I can learn programming languages (fluent in VB and Java). My using Quest is not because I'm inexperienced with programming, but because the other tools just don't suit my needs.

The modern games from SQ3 onward sure were good about making sure you didn't hit a dead end. There's a couple of other minimal unwinnable states in SQ5 (which the game usually kills you for eventually anyway): 1. When you go to Gingivitis at the end of the game and meet up with the Goliath, you won't be able to leave your sector without uncloaking, for which the Goliath will destroy you. This means you're screwed if you forgot the canisters from Genetix. 2. Or the moment you get into the EVA pod without the laser torch (in the Beta version, there's no death for this, so it's just a dead end). 3. Activating the self-destruct sequence prematurely at any point prior to the end of the game is basically a guaranteed unwinnable situation.

I think it's entirely possible that Sludge has many more blood relatives we have no knowledge of...

Roger also has a number of (heated) exchanges with the narrator in SQ6. My favorite one which was left out of the final game was where Roger asked the narrator to shut up and that "there are other narrators who wouldn't mind hooking up with this series", to which Gary Owens - sarcastic and in-character as ever - cites having a union contract. You can tell that Josh Mandel was having loads of fun writing the game's script (he does this a few times in Freddy Pharkas, too). "It's the door to your pharmacy." "I knew that!"

I support the Kickstarter campaign as much as anyone, and I was able to pledge $500.00, because it was money that I had free to spend. However, I would take my money back if I needed it for myself in order to survive. You should too. This campaign is a big deal, but not that big of a deal.
