  1. Thought I'd gone too long without a heart attack. Thank you so much for shaking up my system.
  2. I'd love to go myself, but no dice. Maybe if it were in 2015 or 16.
  3. Thanks again :) I'm pretty proud of the talkie work we've been able lay down so far. When it does come out, I dare say I'm sure you'll be satisfied if you liked the game to begin with. As for Beatrice, that's a matter of taste, I think. We actually had this discussion at least once during development and early on, I think Bea was even more dismissive of Roger. My take on it is that she's a bit tired of being second in line to her boyfriend's grand adventures. And then she turns more cranky when he not only insists they only eat at the damn Pie-ery during their supposedly romantic vacation, but also drags her to a godforsaken ice planet so he can flex his muscles against his arch-nemesis. Can't blame her for being a bit on edge, especially once she gets kidnapped. Just my 2 cents, though. The same would apply to Incinerations, except that in that game, he continued neglecting the poor woman for ten years.
  4. Thanks - glad you liked it! Sure, the voicepack is still on its way, but there's admittedly not much work being done on it these days. Because so many of our voice actors are otherwise engaged with their own projects and all of them are doing this for free on their own time, new submissions are fairly rare. So we've hit a bit of a snag where we can't really gain any momentum till the major characters, such as the Narrator, Roger and Vohaul are 100% in the can. Which is unfortunate, cause it means we can't really promise more than that "it's done when it's done". Till then, your appreciation of the game means the world :)
  5. I don't really get it either. I'm not a huge fan of sandwiches anyway. If I had a choice, I'd much rather have a nice, home-made pizza or maybe a healthy serving of chili con carne. But misogynists seem to settle for the most boring choice of food humanely possible.
  6. Well, he has written on Twitter that Replay will be doing another episode of Fester Mudd sometime soon. Good luck finding any buyers.
  7. Yeah, Joe is definitely the guy to go to. In case he declines, I can think of another VSB actor who'd also be able to help.
  8. Thing about women is they don't get how much freedom they do have. Specifically, they're totally free within the domain of sandwich-making. That's a privilege if ever there was one. I can't see why no one has picked up on this.
  9. Plus, the Two Guys aren't interested in going back to working for a company either. They like being fully independent. And with all the stuff that went on recently, they're doing the right thing, in my opinion.
  10. Yeah, the best thing we can do is to support and promote SpaceVenture. The sales figures need to count. Only then will a new Space Quest game be likely.
  11. I don't think Jane was ever attacked directly; the journalist probably read his attack on Phoenix and kinda figured that, well, since Jane is currently working with Phoenix... Things have still gone too far when we're actively discussing who Paul Trowe did not smear, though!
  12. As far as I could tell, social media integration allows you to share your in-game achievements on Facebook and/or Twitter. I haven't used it, though. As a matter of fact, I completely disabled the achivement-popup because it's so obtrusive.
  13. This is already known among quite a few of us, but discussing it can't hurt :) The most important events that led up to Lowe's return to retirement have been covered by Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It's by far the most sober and well-documented account out there, so it's well worth a read. If we see ever see Al at the helm of a game again, it will surely be without Trowe at his side...
  14. I received a similarly worded email from a grieving widow in Nigeria this morning.
  15. Yes. It's a "great" example of commercialism. It's got nothing to do with the Guys apart from being based on their game. If I remember correctly, they didn't even realise it was in development till fairly late in the process. I'll admit, I appreciate it for what it is. Like Troels mentions, it's got some funny writing and a brilliant soundtrack. But it's not really a game by the Two Guys from Andromeda.
  16. You'd have to buy one of the old collections on eBay, I think. I don't think there are any versions in print that contain the original SQ1, disturbing as that is.
  17. Okay. Fixed.
  18. I really don't want to know all these pay for more therapy sessions to help me forget, do I?
  19. Awesome! Glad you found what you were looking for. And sorry I didn't see your thread sooner :)
  20. Ah, my bad; I didn't realise there were multiple versions of NRS' SQ4 patch.
  21. This might be an old version. That page hasn't been updated in years. You should get it from here instead; Collector generally does his best to keep everything up to date and working.
  22. Well, the game is out there, so people are free to decide whether they love it or hate it. I should know - VSB has gotten a fair bit of flak as well. Producing a fan game does not necessarily mean insta-worship, and it's not going to disappear just because someone doesn't like it. Also, this is me disagreeing with you. On a discussion forum. Not picking your statement to bits. You're right to talk about respect, though. But some of us have reasons for not liking that game, assuming this is SQ4.5 you're talking about, nor respecting its creator. I know that statement is annoyingly cryptic, so here's the story, for the umpteenth time (yes, I'm bitter and I like rambling): The guy who made SQ4.5 worked as composer on Incinerations. As did I. But I turned in music I had made myself. He ripped a bunch of music off some film soundtracks and sent in that. When he was busted, it was too late to delay the game and he wouldn't even admit what he'd done; he was blaming his "record company". Cause they'd gone off and used his Space Quest music for Battle: Los Angeles and TRON Legacy without his permission. Yeah, that'll be the day. And, just to be clear, Chris Ushko who made this game had asked for original music. The entire game had a temp soundtrack during development, so if he wanted to risk a C&D, he wouldn't even have had to bring any composers on board. He HAD a ripped soundtrack handy! I think it's entirely my right to harbour resentment for these actions and judge this person's other "creative" works based on it. He made a brilliant game look slightly worse, he is still endangering its very existence (unless Disney never finds out about the TRON music) and he potentially made the work of us other composers come off worse. You know, cause if one of the composers is a rip-off, someone might think the others are too. All that for 15 minutes of fame. I hear the "original soundtrack" in SQ4.5 is anything but. Wonder who the record company sold his music to there. By all means, use ripped resources to convey your story if you must. But be honest about it and don't let your lies potentially damage other people's reputations. Have pure intentions. Then your "Space Quest mashup" of sorts (admittedly, I tend to love mashups) is worthy of my respect. I hope the above clears up why I think this game is not.
  23. Doesn't the Larry Collection on GOG.com contain LSL6CD, though? I don't own that particular collection myself, but the size of the download seems to indicate it's in there.
  24. Heh, this is probably one of the better posts here ;) And quite the surprise, I might add. More so than when I finally realised pcj is not an android. To be fair, I'm still in denial about that one.
  25. Pretty sure you knew even then; my custom title on the Subchan was even "Danish Pastry" for a while. If I remember correctly, partly because of your input. So you probably chose to forget. For which I cannot blame you. But no, I was formally introduced to these specific games via the questionable concept of "abandonware".
