  1. The core of the game is exactly the same. Nothing changed in the story area. So don't worry about that. But it's neither a "+ remake" nor a "1:1 remake".
  2. No worries. Post an be merry! :D
  3. Be mad all you want but be a little less (as in a lot less) negative towards other people, please.
  4. That's an interesting point, actually. In the early games the narrator made fun of you the player for being so stupid. In later games it was simply directed at Roger.
  5. Just as an added note, the original price for the KQ and SQ collections on Steam were originally $19.99 each. So it is quite a deal!
  6. Honestly, I don't really like Mandel's Space Quests. SQ6 was hilarious, but other than that I have a hard time calling it a Space Quest game. I'd rather have Scott making SQ7 than Tell Tale, Josh, Mark, or anybody. Not to say I wasn't looking forward to the unofficial SQ7!
  7. But Vivendi could have started selling it themselves and then demand that they remove the free version from the SQ7 website. That would suck.
  8. Like I said, some people who were members of the SQ7 team said they wouldn't (couldn't?) work on it if Vivendi was involved. I think some of the people were ex-Sierra employees or possibly employees of other game companies. So in that sense it's not a matter of ego but a matter of legality and contractual obligation.
  9. Because there were certain people working on the SQ7 team that didn't want to be a part of the project if Vivendi were involved. That's the last I heard anyway. Also the SQ7 team tried to counter offer something to Vivendi's deal about licensing it as a fan project like the AGDI remakes and KQ9. I guess the SQ7 team weren't happy with it just being a licensed fan project. I really don't know the ins and outs so I'll just wait for someone who was on the team to explain it better (more correctly?).
  10. Not renaming the title is not why SQ7 wasn't released.
  11. AV = ActiVision. The current owner of the Sierra IPs.
  12. I'm afraid there is no Windows version of SQ5.
  13. I think by "ill-fated" he just means it unfortunately never got completed.
  14. We're all rather excited about it as well. We've taken a few liberties with some sections to make the game really shine. I think people will love it.
  15. As a member at IA, I can tell you we're past half-way and well on our way to finishing it up.
  16. Blizzard was owned by Vivendi. Vivendi "partnered" with Activision not long ago and now they're both called Activision-Blizzard. They're one company now. Right.
  17. This IS talking about SQ7.org.
  18. Topless and pajamas are in the same category: stupid.
  19. Ohhh the NOISE channel. Right! That's a 4th channel isn't it?
  20. I haven't tried it on any AGI games yet but I assume it would. Can't hurt to give it a shot, anyway.
  21. Those patches are for DOS SCI games not MAC AGI games.
  22. NICE! I must say I adore this program and it's really helped with creating my KQ2SCI project music-wise. Not that I'm ripping music from the games, but just to see how they worked.
  23. Just tried that and it doesn't work. It seems to be an in-between format between SCI01 and SCI1.0 since the old DOS SCI Decoder program won't view EGA SCI1.0 picture resources. The sprites are in SCI0 format, though. If you like I can get you a copy of one of the EGA versions. Email me your email address and I can send you a copy.
  24. The EGA version of the Space Quest 1 remake's picture resources is what I'm talking about. Many SCI1.0 games had 16 colour counterparts for people who still used Tandy computers or just didn't have a VGA card. Here's a short list: Space Quest 1 Remake Space Quest 4 Leisure Suit Larry 1 Remake Leisure Suit Larry 5 King's Quest 5 Police Quest 3 And there are a handful of others. And thanks for the revision! Downloading.
