  1. Then apparently you are not familiar with TCB.
  2. Keep on Trekkin'
  3. Trekkie :)
  4. Correct. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_mobile_phones#Predecessors
  5. LSL6CD is still fairly easy to find on eBay. This is ebay.com, but you could probably find a similar deal on a European eBay where shipping would not kill you. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leisure-Suit-Larry-6-Shape-Up-or-Slip-Out-/121178886104?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item1c36d30fd8
  6. Keep in mind that any abandoned resource may not be usable, even with debug. There are several things required for a resource in a game, most importantly script/heap that use them. If it is a view resource being used for an inventory item it also needs a message resource to give it a name for the interpreter to call it. For a talkie game it may need an audio resource in the RESOURCE.AUD or the RESOURCE.SFX. Additionally, using debug to to add an unused item to your inventory could cause problems. If there is partial support for it in the game, i.e. something in the scripts, which makes calls to other nonexistant resource, it will crash with a panic message that it could not find the missing resource.
  7. I would not want to see too rigorous control of topics. It is a way to drive away posters. I have seen forums die because inflexibility.
  8. I wondered about the "rip" part as I am well aware of the VMDs. Just for viewing you can use VAG's VMD viewer, but he dropped development before adding a conversion utility.
  9. Hey Spikey, How did you rip/convert the VMDs. There are a few ways to do it, but I am looking for a better way to do it without the use of proprietary software or some awkward work around.
  10. No delete function?
  11. Oh, I was not suggesting that you posted in the wrong thread, just that it is a subject worthy of its own thread.
  12. And continuing with the redshirt meme:
  13. That is a subjective view. The QfG series has a very loyal following, perhaps in part because the character that you build can be imported from one game into the next. It provides for a continuity that goes beyond the other series that keep the same protagonists. It also successfully combines elements of an RPG with an adventure game, with the emphasis on the Adventure parts. The KQ games also have a fair following with KQ6 generally considered by many as one of the all time best adventure games. This is probably in large part because of Jane Jensen's influence, which brings up her signature series, GK, which also has a very loyal following. I'll leave it to the LSL fans to say why they love that series. The remaining series have their following, but not on the scale as the previous ones. Edit: This could be a fairly large in itself, so it may be best to split it off into its own thread.
  14. Activision does hold the IP, so it is best to not ask for such things publicly. We don't want to do anything that might have a negative influence on them releasing the SQ IP to the Two Guys.
  15. You might want to see what Akril has put online about the unused resources - http://www.akril15.com/sr/SierraResources.html
  16. More ST humor
  17. No one could touch Sierra when it came to EGA. TCB=Best EGA art in a game.
  18. Doan Sephim of The SCI Programming Community has been working on a new QfG style game in SCI Companion. It is nearing completion. It tenatively is scheduled to be released around Christmas. The game is titled Betrayed Alliance Book 1 He has uploaded a trailer to YouTube. Enjoy:
