The reason for being online always is pretty simple. People hacked the hell (no pun intended) out of Diablo II, before they had the secure Battle.net servers. So you'd have people in ungoldly armor and weapons. This new version of being online always is an attempt to block those forms of hacks and bots and what not. Since I have a cable modem that is online all the time anyway; it makes no difference to me. As a side note, beat it with my second character this weekend.

So some hidden facts... The score in this one is a reference to my birthday... http://sierrahelp.com/forums/download/file.php?id=2810&mode=view And the score in the following two are a reference to my wife's birthday... http://sierrahelp.com/forums/download/file.php?id=2869&mode=view http://sierrahelp.com/forums/download/file.php?id=2880&mode=view And this is now my Windows Startup/Lock screen: http://sierrahelp.com/forums/download/file.php?id=2915&mode=view -
In their defense, they're probably doing what many of us did to promote SpaceVenture and find the right section of the forum (without always looking for a thread with the same theme) to promote a project. (Since they only have 2 posts here, that'd be my guess). When I went on a SpaceVenture promoting spree, I was all over MANY forums, looking for their general / off topic chatter section, and then posting about Spaceventure without looking to see if there was a "Post all your Kickstarter" topic already.

AT&T & Dish Networks to Drop AMC (Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, etc)
Tawmis replied to Tawmis's topic in The Rocket Bar
Yeah. If AT&T does it too - I will have to power through what's on the DVR and switch to Time Warner. I think it'd be a bad move. I can't find any details on the WHY they'd do it? -

Yeah. We have AT&T for our tv (but Time Warner for internet). This goes down (as I already wrote on the above link), we will just package everything with Time Warner. -

Tawmis replied to penguinfan's topic in Andromedan Spaceport
Someone asked if me if I was a poet, "Sure!" I replied, but I didn't want to show it. Because it'll be beat dead By everyone replying in the thread. So I don't care what it's about Whether it's about guys from Andromeda Who have silly snouts I will not be the one to entertain ya. So whether it's about Space Venture or Space Quest I will not write something that rhymes Just to get it off my chest So please, stop wasting my time. -
We may be battling side by side in mechs in the near future then, sir. :)

You want to play King's Quest IV and VI, at least. On this we agree. I do about 95% of my gaming on console now. Even though I just bought a souped up PC. I think the general rule (someone can slap me if I am wrong; or slap me because they enjoy doing it) - off topic is fine, as long as things remain civil. :) Loved MechWarrior also - used to get it on the LAN and have several of us in the garage and just jump on and blast the hell out of each other. ("You did not just jump into an Atlas! You son of a - BOOM!") But as for point and click - oh yes, they have their place. Just like most things do. I just don't think they helped Adventure (Sierra) Games. I think it impaired them. For me, it's what helped me to type as quickly as I do, and spell... On the business side of it (opposite of my view), they probably saw point and click easier, and thus could target more people. (Like kids and such who may not have enjoyed learning how to type and spell... and look at the kids today...) ;)

+ 1 Agree.
-
It was the assortment of Sierra games that taught me to type as quick as I do (as well greatly increased my ability to spell correctly!)... I strongly dislike the point and click interface. With a passion.
-
Awesome share, sir! And above, you state why I hated the point and click interface, when that took over Sierra games. It ripped away some of the intuitive requirements to play the games. One could simply click all over the screen, rotating between the different icons, until something happened.

Clearly neither does Tawmis Vohaul (or Tawmis for that matter!) :D

I imagine there will be a mass email to those who donated enough that got shirts or whatever - that will ask shirt sizes, and where to send it.

Hah! You don't even realize how happy I am to know someone else is enjoying the madness! There's indeed an improvement between Episode 01 and 02. And each episode, all the way up to Episode 10. Once we get to Episode 10, we finally have a good handle on how to do everything. Then that's when we begun really upgrading everything (for hardware, software, etc). Ironically, we would not have done Neverending Nights had it not been for Red vs Blue. But like you, we were utterly sick of all the Halo machinimas out there that were trying to capture the success of Red vs Blue (and this is when RvB was still in its first season!) We started doing Neverending Nights when RvB was like on Episode 6 or 7. And already by that short amount of time, there was a ton of Halo machinimas knocking off RvB. In our first episode, we do a nod to RvB (the two knights that show up in armor are nods to Caboose and Grif of RvB, who happened to be our favorite characters of RvB). Eage eyes will spot those two knights in several episodes walking around in the background. Each guest character that gets introduced (for example in Episode 06), their character traits that are displayed (for example Alan the Astounding's massive drinking) are all references to real life events. For example, the guy who did the voice of Alan the Astounding (Chad) had tried to our drink me on a booze cruise many of us had gone on; needless to say, I literally out drank him to the point that he passed out in the middle of walking back to his room with his girlfriend. (He literally simply collapsed!) You have already met Poppy the Salt Vendor, whose love of salt (in real life) knows no bounds - she literally puts salt on everything. I think once you get to Episode 10 or 11 you will really begin to enjoy yourself. The true story telling begins in Season 2. (Season 1 is pretty much just setting everything up).

Heh - never done any of the "Let's Play" type videos before. So I will leave it to Skyfyre if they've done it before!
