I'm not planning on doing him much fatter. I'm actually basing his features on Marlon Brando, not that I used direct refrences, from Apocalypse Now. Though unlike Brando, I'm giving him much more worn face

Personally I'd choose someone with their own persnality in the voice rather than "sound a like". The problem with people why kinda like sound or try to imitate some one is, that more often than not you'll soon notice that the person isn't doing something that he can naturally do for hours. There's always some ques, words or pharses where the vocie snaps off for a moment.
I really liked the guy who did narration for Larry Reloaded. It was at the same time in line with LSL7, but it also was its own thing.

They are really hitting it off the ball park. It really shows that Ferrari is among the best pixel artists out there and the light and shader tricks Ron is implementing are making it all look even nicer.

Hey, that GrafX2 looks pretty neat little app. I started doing digital art with Deluxe paint as well and from time to time get a hankering to use, but I never really have bothered to set it up on Dosbox.

Thanks Johnathon. No, Roger looking like Henriksen is purely co-incedental. I didn't model him anyone in mind, but now that you said it, that must have been why I had the nagging feeling that there's something familiar about his features.

Thanks guys. I thought that "III" gag could have been something the Guy's could have considered using. I actually at first meant it to land in the middle, but then the whole richioting off the word "space" and thumbling on the ground felt like waste of good little gag if I wouldn't have used that.

Some of you might remember that I was tinkering with a 3D version of SQ3 intro a while back. Well here it is now. With a tune borrowed from Alien.

Sure, but I'd wager Steam stats do give pretty good idea of how well the game is selling. I know LSL:R had a physical release as well, but I think even that was tied to Steam.

While It does madden me that Trowe ain't shelling out what Al is due, I also doubt there's that many bunnies in the row either. It isn't hitting 0 players according to Steamcharts, but it's hardly going through the roof either. http://steamcharts.com/app/231910

That does suck. Personally my own recollection of his acting comes pretty much from Space Quest narrations, but that was enough to make me exited from him returning to narrate SpaceVenture. He had a great voice and a great comedic timing.
-
Has anyone here been following it? It think it's pretty interesting view on how he designs adventure games. Even if the game would end sucking hard, at least the process of how he will get there will be very interesting to see, if he keeps up the pace he's been posting stuff of the progress of things.

Yet I'm disappointed as they didn't enhance the character models more. There's a fan made mod that has at least some of the models done in much higher quality and IMO they do work very well.

Yes, it's about finding the bridle. You don't even see it on the island and only way you'll know it is there if you decide to go behind the ship wall and search the ground. It is way too easy miss and you won't have a second change getting back there. I think, with the whale, it is the only location you can't get back and it does suck when the place has an important, easy to miss object in it.
It wouldn't matter if there'd be an another solution to the unicorn puzzle, but as there isn't, I've concluded that was one of those hint book seller design choices. -
That bridle thing is one of those "I wonder how I could sell more hint books"-Roberta things. There is no excuse for it, as it is so intentionally obscure, that it can't be a product of bad design. It is more like devilish, money grabbing hint book selling design.
I've never encountered that getting into the tomb without key bug. -

Personally I don't like Twitter. I find the converstions to be much harder to follow than even in KS page, which is shitty as well. And I really don't follow Facebook that much either these days. I only check what my fiends and family members are up to, but anything else, I just don't can't muster that much interest anymore in FB.

Actually KS rules state that it isn't a charity. It's not a promise of a finished product either, as KS does understand that shit happens, but they also do state that the creator is obligated to do what he suggested or if that is not possible then find an another agreeable solution with the backers. Also the promised rewards should be delivererd as well.
Though those all are just words, as KS as such doesn't seem to have any intentions on going in one way or an another with the projects that actually do fail to deliver and where the creators just fanish underground (not talking about SV here, there are projects in which the creators just stop updating all together after they hit a brick wall and to my knowledge KS hasn't been any help to the backers) -
Of course backers are entitled to know where the project is at. That's one of the bargains in any KS, that they're kept in loop on the general level about how the project is progressing. That doesn't mean any bank statement break downs, but it does mean reassuring the masses a couple of times during the development that everything is going okay, especially now that everyone knows this project will come out much later than originally expected. Besides well done communication, something SV at the moment is lacking, enhances the feeling that the project is going well and hasn't been abandoned.
At this moment Troels is the only person attatched to the projet who has done good job at communication in the KS forums. And overall I'd say it would be a good idea to give him the PR run. -
It's cool if backers do get to see stuff, but if there are certain backers acting like knuckleheads
and throwing their toys out of the pram and making all types of unwarranted gossipy assumptions,
and "sky is falling" predictions based on nothing, then screw em, I don't really see why they have
to be pandered to with carefully crafted updates... they don't have to see anything at all.
Let them worry over nothing and get an ulcer if they like, what difference does it make?
As long as a great game comes out at the end, that's all that matters.
Intelligent people understand what the Two Guys and their associates are trying to do.It is noted and appreciated. The thing is though the longer the Guys are silent the more thrutfull the false informations starts to sound. People come to the site, wanting to see whats going on, and if they see these doom and gloom posts with nothing official to counter that, then what conclusions they will draw from there?
Let's face it. This project already lags behind from promised rewards, mainly related to SV-rewards site. That whole thing has been a major disappointment for me, as I expected to actually see some good stuff there regulary, not once a year. The seeming abandoment of SV-rewards tied to fewer updares and lack of official presentation of the KS site do make things like less than peachy, Some solid PR is needed.

It would be a good thing to post an actual update by christmas with some meaty content in it, maybe even some actual gameplay footage and all. I really can't blame people from becoming more and more pessimistic about SV as such, especially when the good updates look like they need to be pulled out by force. That by itself creates an image that someone is trying to evade something, even if it all is just for trying to keep some shrouds over the content of the game.

KQ3 is sadistic game, there's no way around it. But it does turn more enjoyable after you've been frustrated with at first, maybe it's some sort of Stockholm syndrome.
