  1. The picture they used is kind of jarring. Also, that shot of Picard holding the PADD is from at least season 3 (no lines on the shoulders of his uniform, which only existed in season 1 and 2) so that year would be 1989 at least. Of course, they did have PADDs in the first season as well. /geek mode ...just kidding, geek mode never turns off.
  2. I want to thank everybody again who contributed to my little idea. It isn't even my idea anymore, I feel like I played such a small part in this. I said in one of the comments already on Facebook that I really didn't even feel like I knew what I was doing half the time, it just sort of developed a life of its own and that's entirely due to the content that you guys made. For my part, I know I'm not very funny and can't act to save my life, so I'm glad that I had so much great content from lots of other much funnier people than myself to hide my stuff between. I'm just glad I could stand alongside you guys. This community really is the best. Thanks again.
  3. Finally uploaded here for your viewing pleasure! Thanks to everyone who contributed, it all really made a difference. This video turned out to be something special indeed. SQ fans rock! http://youtu.be/Uy_q4y1LiG0
  4. I know! I loved that game. Chuck's Challenge lives up to its predecessor nicely. Graphics are very appealing and it's even got a level editor. It's trying to get greenlit on Steam, if anyone wants to give it a vote. I've also backed a first person shooter that teaches you how to program games (specifically in Unity, i think) called Code Hero. It looks quite interesting and seems to be a genius concept. However, it's been taking a while. Still gets updates every now and then. Hopefully it gets released and hopefully it doesn't turn out to be very superficial.
  5. Hah nice. Wish I had the money to back more like that. :)
  6. I have backed a total of 6 successfully funded Kickstarters and today marks the first project of my list that I've received my game from. Chuck's Challenge 3D was finally released a few days ago and my Desura key just got activated. List your successful and released Kickstarters here.
  7. Yeah, but it's still nice to hear the presentation, though. You might hear something that they didn't bring up here in the thread. Plus this podcast reaches farther than just the community of these forums. ;)
  8. We frequently go off topic here. It's not uncommon. That said, everyone has had something on-topic in every post so far, as far as I can see. So I wouldn't say it's gone that off topic.
  9. I remember the Two Guys being asked in either one of the live streams or a hangout about the bear creature. They didn't remember it, I believe they said. At least there were no plans to implement it. So we don't know why it was in the magazine screenshot.
  10. Almost done, guys. Just fine tuning some details. I expect this'll be up in a few days.
  11. Scott had revealed at some point that he said Ken offered them the option to go with P&C or parser for SQ4. They chose parser but Ken later rescinded the choice and enforced P&C all around the board. It was always going to be a VGA game, though. The EGA version of SQ4 was an alternate version for those who didn't upgrade their computers for VGA support. It had converted graphics that were slightly reworked to not be just bad straight conversions. Same with all the EGA SCI1.0 games (KQ5, PQ3, SQ1VGA, LSL5, LSL1VGA, MUFT, etc). Before the days of the dithered hi-res EGA driver in SCI1.1 games. The EGA version of SQ4 had alternate graphics entirely for all the backgrounds that had colour palette cycling enabled (title screen which resembles the SQ1 title screen, the time rip effect, etc). I think it was always meant to be a VGA game, though. Unless I'm wrong about that. But the difference here I think is that the P&C interface was enforced over parser rather than VGA over EGA (which the Two Guys were probably all for). The SCI1+ interpreter could have been more than able to support the parser interface, it was just never added in.
  12. Just spent all day organizing and arranging all these videos together. I think I've finally got this flowing nicely. It really is something special and even more funny with everyone's excellent humour put together. The final video length is just about 25 minutes. I'll do some fine-tuning and adding sound effects, music, and text during the week.
  13. Alright, it's now Nov 3rd. That means submissions are closed. If you were still finishing up, I might consider letting your submission in for a small fee. Otherwise you're out of luck. (Just kidding, send it anyway) I'm working on editing the final set of videos in now. Not sure how long it will take me, hopefully no more than a week. It's looking good, though. You're submissions were all very funny and will work well together. Bsck to editing!
  14. Right now I have videos from: Troels Frede Akril Jason Datadog Serena nockgeneer RogerWilcoFan2015 Tomimt (SQ3 animation) Plus my own contribution.
  15. Last call for sending in your submission for the tribute video! If you need another day or so, that's finw. Let me know here and I'll wait a little longer, otherwise I'll start editing it together for release as soon as possible!
  16. I have the version of SQ1 with Ken. I also had the SQ5 beta...or I thought I did. I never actually tried it and now I can't seem to find it.
  17. You can, it's just covered by the grate graphic via priority lines. It blends into the darkness, but it's there.
  18. Oh, is that not being zapped by a Sarien? Actually, all those character sprites I don't necessarily recognize. The tentacled monster is the grate monster from underground Kerona, though.
  19. Everything else there is in the game as far as I can see...except for maybe the chainsawed Roger? Don't remember that one.
  20. Haha. Imagine if they had made one more EGA game before switching to VGA. That would have been amazing.
  21. The latter seasons were the best. Especially season six, I think.
  22. None of them look bad. That's not what I meant. In fact, Sierra was probably ahead of the game as far as EGA graphics are concerned more than most of the other game developers. They just got significantly even better over time.
  23. SQ3's art was of an earlier type. Made more like an AGI game's art would be. It's not bad, in fact it works quite well for the game. I love it. That's not to Mark Crowe's discredit either. It's just the way it was. Later SCI games started including more detail as thebart process evolved and artists started taking more advantages of the SCI engine's possibilities. KQ4 was the worst contender, being the first SCI game. Especially the first version made alongside the AGI version. Google KQ4 V1.000.111. The backgrounds were quite different to the ones in the version included in the KQ collections.
