  1. I'm totally doing one. I've never done a camera thing either.
  2. Welcome, Mark From Andromeda! I'm sure the vast talent available here can help with your website as well. It's good to see you stopped by. :)
  3. Here's a question, Ken, if I may ask. What was your association with Sierra at the time? Were all you guys (composers) at Sierra on salary or were you contracted for each project you worked on? Wow! Thanks for sharing that! I have Voyetra MIDI SPG myself and I like it very much as well. I'm going to have to look into those other programs. I love vintage software, especially music software. Would be neat to play with the same programs that Sierra used. Do you still do game music composing? Or composing of any kind? What software do you use nowadays if so? Actually, sections of the theme that play when Roger is battling Roger Jr/Vohaul at the end of the game is very reminiscent of the "Amok Time" battle theme from Star Trek TOS when Spock is battling Kirk. Is that what you're referring to? http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp22IgAL0qo&feature=BFa&list=PLE13106492FC50BCC
  4. Heh. That would be neat. I don't know how many people would use it, but some certainly would. And considering all the extra content and interactions you could have with it. It would probably be a good idea not to make any part of the game dependent on it, but I'm not against its inclusion.
  5. Bravo, Paul. Cheers! Let's all be friends now. :) And that was a great post as well, Chris. We're learning more about everybody involved (and not involved) every day!
  6. Most everything everyone's saying I wish would stay, so far. I actually like timed puzzles. Not a whole timed game, though. I also liked the acid drips. They weren't that difficult to avoid. The gambling machine would be the only thing. I rather liked the remake's approach to this by adding an extra item that helped you to cheat.
  7. Tim is always fun to watch in conversation.
  8. I've never seen or read a copy of any edition of the SQ Companion yet. I keep trying to get a hold of one and it never ends up working out.
  9. Ken! Welcome! I have to say that you were one of my favourite Sierra composers back in the day and your and Mark Seibert's soundtracks were among the most inspiring for myself that led to me composing my own personal music and for games. So thank you! My first question was going to be "what are you doing nowadays?" but I was beaten to the punch.
  10. We need a movie thread. I'll start off with the new debut trailer of Expendables 2. Others may have found the first movie stupid and shallow, but I loved it. It's gonna be great to see all these action heroes together in the next film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XQf3YP8p85I Also, I'm really excited about the new Alien prequel film Prometheus by Ridley Scott, director of the first Alien. The story focuses on the crashed ship from the first movie and the race that occupied it, rather than the Xenomorph Aliens. Although, I'm sure we'll see and feel some familiar vibes. I'm excited to finally get some backstory on the strange and mysterious "Space Jockeys". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1byZkbNB3Jw&
  11. Ken Allen is doing the music? This is just getting better and better!
  12. Paul Trowe has nothing to do with ActiVision, aside from the fact that he's trying to get the old Sierra IP licenses from them.
  13. Still missing something. Who's worried about SpaceVenture, besides obviously (now that I see) you? I thought we were talking about Paul Trowe.
  14. All true. I'm forgetting that Jane Jensen's Kickstarter had three separate and outlined game design propositions with characters and plot already conceived. I'm sure we'll get something at like that by pledge-time.
  15. I must have missed something. Who's saying negative things about the Two Guys' decision?
  16. I've got all the plot overview I need. It's a sci-fi adventure comedy made by the Two Guys. Will it be as good as Space Quest was(/seemed) back in the day? Maybe not. But I don't care. Expectations will almost certainly not be met as much as we'd like, even if it WAS a Space Quest. But it WILL be good and I just want them to keep making games. They're bound to find their stride even if they don't right away.
  17. All I've heard of Paul Trowe are bad things. But I can't talk more about it, I'm afraid.
  18. We're not going to get any more information on it than we already have until after the Kickstarter is over. That's the idea. They can't go ahead without getting paid, they don't get paid until the pledges are charged. Also, I've said it before but I'm happy they're doing something new instead of rehashing Space Quest. I'd love to see an official SQ7 someday, but for now I'm happy to see something new. This is not nostalgia this is moving forward. I'm equally glad that the DFA was something new and not DOTT 2 or Grim Fandango 2 or something.
  19. More or less, yes. You got the idea across anyway.
  20. I put $110 into the Double Fine adventure. Had I known the Two Guys were going to start one later on I wouldn't have donated so much and saved it for them. I'll probably try for $100, though. If not $30-$50.
  21. How awesome! Happy Birthday, man!
  22. Recreating BSG was the entire reason for SGU existing. MGM or SyFy whichever wanted it to fill the void BSG left behind.
