  1. This isn't for any admin, or people assisting with the project. It's just for Mark and Scott. Personally I know the risk I take when investing in a Kickstarter. I use money that's expendable, and if things don't work out, they don't. I've got a Beta. But I'm unlikely to see the finished product with working saves and bugs repaired. I'm unlikely to see the tier I paid for which includes a big box, DVD of the game, 'special goodies' or a personal thank you note from the SQH (Big fan by the way Troells and bought your SQIV + Galaxy Galaria vinyls) Regardless of last year's November update, it just seems to have surpassed the point of ridiculousness. The beta has promise, genuine laughs, but massively underwhelming in my opinion. Best thing for us all is to get an apology which I personally will happily accept, because as above, I knew the risks. But also I want you guys to be the same heroes I remember as a 13 year old. I won't throw any shade because I understand all the personal sh*t you've been through. But I think you need to give up this burden for good, apologise, then stick it on github for others to complete. Enjoy your lives and your existing wonderful legacy. I'll remain a fan for the rest of my life. Tom
  2. Looks good! I'm signed up and on-board :)
  3. Can't wait to play this, the trailer looks great. Also while I've not really done much since helping fund this kickstarter, I decided to put a post on Twitter and also shared it with the Space Quest Facebook group. I'm pleased to say that there has been two upvoters since I posted! If everyone can get on board with this and share to all the sierra/spacequest related groups forums they can think of I'm sure we can get this project onto Steam!
  4. I've added my request to join the group too (Tom Lee has anyway). Would be great to see the Space Quest name resurrected too... Heck I want a new Jim Walls Police Quest and codename: ICEMAN game while I'm at it!
  5. Nice work! I really liked the 3D render of Roger!
  6. It's taken me a while to get around to listening to these podcasts and I'm thoroughly enjoying listening to the Roland MT 32 version of the Space Quest theme through my head phones while preparing dinner.
  7. I can't believe I had no idea about this. I'd been regularly checking the Andromeden Spaceport for Spaceventure news but hadn't been looking anywhere else this year. Of course I had been around during PT's original remarks about Spaceventure and had expressed sadness about the whole affair. I had wondered how Al Lowe could tolerate such behaviour and still be part of Replay. In a way at least I'm glad he and Josh are out of there. However what with the whole conviction of PT and the details surrounding it, the whole thing leaves me very sad for Al and all the Larry fans. I always was of the opinion that the as long as Al and Josh were developing the games I'd be happy. Now it's almost tragic that the rights to further Larry games are once again in the wrong hands. I feel like a total Muppet for posting this on twitter in March. No wonder there was no response :( https://twitter.com/tomlee80/status/442284718890160128
  8. The Larry series holds a place in my heart just as much as the Space Quest series and the Larry 2 remake would have been the most interesting to me as it blew my mind back in '89 when I fired it up on my dual 3.5 drive, CGA Graphics, Olivetti PC1. The opening location of LA with plush pavements illustrated in generous heavy shades of red, boutique stores and TV studios leapfrogged LSL1 in design. I don't care much for the likes of PT now. I do care about Al and Josh my favourite Frontier Pharmacists and I do care about who has the rights to make Larry games. Who has the power to terminate Replay's license for further Leisure Suit Larry releases? Activision? Can we petition them asking that we would not contribute to any further Kickstarters as long as PT is involved?
  9. Aside from things like Space Quest I talk a lot about my cats on Twitter. Follow me! @tomlee80.
  10. Fantastic! Poor Astro Chicken :(
  11. Give it a couple more months and I'm sure by then we'll have some more details on the Spaceventure. Maybe even a nice new teaser trailer around Xmas?
  12. Sounds like fun this. I've not had a chance to "Google Hangout" yet! I like the Skate-O-Rama idea, fastest circuit back to the time pod wins a prize!
  13. So it appears that when Lowe Trowe & Co. visited the Adventure Mob offices in Tel Aviv last month they weren't totally impressed. I must admit I feel a bit sorry for Adventure Mob, but have faith in Al Lowe making the right choice. The controversy with this is that the screens and animations that were previewed for Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded were all created by Adventure Mob. Lets hope that fans don't feel too short changed by this sudden U Turn from replay. This new developer sounds pretty sh*t hot though in comparison to Adventure Mob so I'm sure they'll come up with something pretty special with the 600K raised. I hope so because I'm a backer!!! Here's a link to the story from venture beat... P.S. Read Michael Schwartz' comment....(hmmm  ) http://venturebeat.c...oper-exclusive/
  14. I kind of liked the mice chewing the insides of the test computer. It suits Roger's ability to get lucky when his probability of success is 0.000001%
  15. "Yeah Yeah so you can move around and explore - usual adventure game stuff". He might as well have just shouted "NEXT!!!" I am not aware of Stewart Chefeit over here in the UK, but he feigns the sort of interest my Dad used to display when I started passionately describing the intricate storyline of my favourite games back when I was a kid. I was doing everything to try and sell this as ART to him but his mind was locked onto "Er yeah its a game". That being said Stewart Chefeit was probably an awesome journalist when the subject matter actually intrigued him.
  16. That's interesting. I thought no matter what you chose for your answers you always passed the aptitude test because mice get into the computer and screw with the scoring? *EDIT* It appears after looking at the walk through online that there must be two versions. I presume I played the beta without knowing (The wasn't any crashes or bugs that I noticed which was nice!) Yes I will admit that that I downloaded SQ5 for free. However I'm currently looking for a physical copy online to go with my collection and have paid my dues with a pledge that covers me for a copy from gog.com. :) Now I get to play all over again! 17. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIEEEEEEEEEEENDS! :D
  18. Can not put this into words right now. Very happy! Your thoughts and feelings?
  19. SO CLOSE - CALL YOUR RICH FRIENDS AND LETS DO THIS!

  20. I should add to that he was found not guilty (or she dropped her case...). When Craig Charles (Lister) recalled being taken under arrest it had actually been his birthday and he thought it was a stunt! How harsh could that have been? For me though...you've gotta laugh now :) For the second run of series 6 the BBC didn't show episode 1 "Psirens" due to the provactive natture of Lister being lured by a woman. Complete bollocks in my opinion!
  21. I liked some of the special but despaired at most of it including the "Corrie Cameos". Totally commercial orientated. Where are the days of "Everybodies Dead Dave!"
  22. So my good friend and conjoined twin tomlee80 asked Scott on twitter earlier today to confess whether he was a fan of space quest or not. Yes, I know we are in stressful times with the kickstarter and all that but I felt it was some light relief from the nail biting few days. As so many of us had been bringing up Red Dwarf during the live chats on twitch.tv, I had been surprised by the lack of response from Scott and Mark. Of course I was well aware of how British Red Dwarf was, but I knew it had a considerable following stateside. It's similarities to Space Quest are completely coincidental (which in a way is even more cool considering Scott and Mark didn't use it as an influence). And at the same time surely most of us can identify with the humour because it is similarly warped. @SlashVohaul Hey Scott, I know you've never commented but it's ok if you don't like Red Dwarf. You're insane not to like it but it's ok :) Scott Murphy ‏@SlashVohaul @tomlee80 I like Red Dwarf! I have to admit to not having watched enough. I have to catch them on Netflix or elsewhere @SlashVohaul A true Anglophile! Please note the first 6 seasons are the good ones.I see so many parallels between ‪#reddwarf‬ ‪#spacequest‬ The history of Red Dwarf's creators is kind of similar too. At one stage Rob Grant and Doug Naylor (The Two Guys From Red Dwarf) parted away and wrote separate novels based around the red dwarf characters and universe (One called The Last Human and the other I can't remember right now....look it up). Who else here are big red dwarf fans and perhaps draw comparisons like me...or have I lost it!
