    Speaking for myself I'd certainly want the sarcastic narrator approach we saw throughout the SQ series, which Gary Owens did so well. I wouldn't particularly want someone trying to imitate Gary Owens,

I think the baritone narrator on the Pete Toleman bits of the new SQH stuff has an amazing voice and great timing.

That's Joe Cassara. He was on board to be the narrator for Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back, when they were still actively doing a talkie version of that game.
