Does anyone have any news about how this one is coming along? It seems like this might be the first Space Quest fangame in years that will actually be completed without interference from some shortsighted corporate parasite.

I'm speaking of course about the one being made by Infamous Adventures, not the ill-fated Vohaul's Mines.

As a member at IA, I can tell you we're past half-way and well on our way to finishing it up.

I'm rather excited about this one actually. SQ2 is my second favorite(SQ5 being the first), and I know it's with a good team.

We're all rather excited about it as well. We've taken a few liberties with some sections to make the game really shine. I think people will love it.

I think by "ill-fated" he just means it unfortunately never got completed.

That's the way I meant it. Vohaul's Mines looked cool, but unfortunately it was shut down like so many other good space quest projects.

The core of the game is exactly the same. Nothing changed in the story area. So don't worry about that. But it's neither a "+ remake" nor a "1:1 remake".

Hey MI ... any new news about this one? If Jan 2009 was over half done, I'd hope May 2010 is close to ready-to-fly ...

 

I'm thinking of replaying SQ (as an effort to give 6 a second chance) but want to play IA's SQ2 after playing SQ1VGA ...

Yeah, we didn't meet our deadline of March 2010. But oh well. That's what you get for making deadlines. It's coming. It's always closer than it was. But we're going to just go back to saying "when it's done" because release dates suck.

That is the Space Quest for Glory mini game that was released a while back. SQ2VGA has not been released yet.

I thought he was confusing "Trial by Plunger" for SQ2+ myself, but... he really did just upload the AGS demo as a prank.

I didn't even bother to download it as I knew it wasn't the final release.

But anyway I feel SQ2VGA will be released soon.
