  1. Yes, I know. It's just fun. :) I never play them, it's just nice to know that they work flawlessly as if they were on a computer back in the day. Nostalgic. Also nice for the games that I never got to have back in the day; installed as if I did. :D
  2. Especially seeing as timed animations and sequences aren't slowed down properly in SCI1.1 games in ScummVM, of which SQ5 is.
  3. I've got Win 3.11 running in DOSBox. Love it. Classic titles like the initial release of Myst, SQ4 CD Win, KQ7 ", Journeyman Project, etc all run swimmingly well. It's wonderful, really.
  4. I can play most of the SQ games on my Galaxy S3. Pixel clicking is a nightmare with your huge thumb, though.
  5. I recall happening upon a large map of the mines, fully illuminated, from the in-game graphics. They showed various locations of dead ends where you end up with the squid. Not sure if I still have it around. It could be both.
  6. In the mines? I've never ever run into that thing. Ever. I always follow the same path, though. I think he's only in certain dead ends.
  7. I'm somewhat against putting too much effects on the source material as it loses some of what little detail there is. That effect is nice, but it distorts the image somewhat. Yes, it's a tiny portion, but maybe there could be some alternate downloads if something like that is going to be used. Personally, I'd like to have the unadulterated versions to improve upon as I see fit to insure no details are lost before I get the files. Alternates can be available for those that don't want to go through the work, if bandwidth allows.
  8. I apologize for skimming. Continue!
  9. Do you have these in larger resolutions? I've been wanting to have something comparable to Laserschwerts' LucasArts posters for a long time. Very nice!
  10. That would be awesome. Hopefully I can squeeze it into my schedule.
  11. Collector linked you to a page where you could download a installer for Space Quest IV. Locate it on that page, download it, and run it. There are instructions included in the installer. You'd probably have to start from scratch again, though. Also moved this thread to the appropriate section.
  12. The video was fantastic! Is the public demo still going to be made or is this meant to replace it?
  13. I don't know. I haven't had ant time to spend on it of late. Last I heard Chris had made a new updated server without all the extras and plugins we had previously. One of these days I might hit up Chris again to see about managing things but now is just not a good time for me. And thank you. I'm only involved with the Mage's Kickstarter. Unless you count the guitar work I'll be doing on Ken Allen's album project. I'm excited for both, though!
  14. It's quite different. Its a much older version first of all. It didn't even come with survival mode on release. After people screamed for it they started implementing it but its still not finished yet. Connecting to PC servers is a definite no. Besides the aforementioned, I think you can only connect wirelessly to other phones in the area. There's a free demo you can try.
  15. Ah I was confused. You said sony vaio and I thought you said vita.
  16. How are you playing them? Scummvm?
  17. Happy Birthday, Frans! Thanks for once again giving this place new life and allowing us to run it! Or for SpaceQuest.net just at all!
  18. Wow. It looks like at a glance that everything Resonance COULD win it DID win. Is it really that great of a game? I hope so. I own it but still haven't played it yet.
  19. The Kickstarter just ended a little while ago. Our goal was $65,000 and we surpassed it to a whopping $127,765 (including PayPal pledges at the time of this writing)!!! A million thanks to anybody here who may have pledged and I hope you'll enjoy the game when it's done! Breaking the $120,000 line allowed us to unlock six of our stretch goals which includes more enemies to fight in the game, more areas to explore, a new unique quest for each of the four player classes, additional 2D animated cutscenes, full-screen closeup artwork in certain scenes (a la KQ5 and KQ6) and a higher level of detail overall, and last but not least, native ports to Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems with the 16:9 widescreen resolution to go with it! If you still haven't checked it out, I believe you can still donate money via PayPal. The demo is also still available to try if you haven't seen it yet. Once again, thanks to everybody for your support and for believing in us! Mage's Initiation Kickstarter Page
  20. Hey I was 4 when I played the first SQ games. Taught me hand eye coordination and spelling/typing. Was playing SQ3 and SQ4 by 5/6.
  21. If you copied all the files then it's possible that your resource.cfg file isn't pointing to their location so the game doesn't know where the voices are to play it back. If you've got the Vivendi collection and there's a resource.aud file then you've got the cd version. Another giveaway is the golden mouse cursors in game and whether the drunk alien in the intro melts in his own vomit or if he just steps in it. I'll post some more details after I get home from work on how to solve this issue. Do text boxes/portraits appear and disappear immediately when there's supposed to be speech?
  22. That may have been me that inadvertently erased part of your description. My bad.
  23. I added images and links to your post. I'll also sticky it.
  24. Posted a paragraph or two myself.
  25. Sorry for all the multi-posting, but for those interested, we're hosting a AMA on reddit right now! http://www.reddit.co...hind_the_kings/
