mrkenallen
I'm going to be compiling the best recordings and covers of my game music for my youtube channel, youtube.com/mrkenallen. And I would like your help finding the best of the best. You can PM me or post links publically in this thread. And thanks in advance for your help. --- Ken "your music pal" Allen pcj and mrkenallen
Popular Post MusicallyInspired
I made this humble cover in rock/metal form of a medley of SQ4 themes a few years back. It was for a video game remix competition called Dwelling of Duels and it actually won 4th place. Looking back, I can do much better now with the recording knowledge and education I've acquired since, but it's still fun to listen to. Here's the link to the MP3, but I'll throw it on YouTube as well. Will add the link when it's done. I always wanted to put more music on my YouTube anyway, what a perfect excuse! mrkenallen
Brandon's post alerted me to this website http://dwellingofduels.net I did a quick search for tunes from the Sierra games I worked on and found these. SQ 4 Cantina - renamed: Drunk In Space - artist: Koelsch1 This one also claims to be an SQ4 cover, but I have no idea from where - renamed: 2525 - artist: Hydrasphere Thexder Firehawk - Fifth Mission - artist: MusicallyInspired (Brandon who did the SQ4 medley in a previous post)
MusicallyInspired
Lol I remember those tracks by Hydrasphere. It was always fun to hear what he would come up with next! I'm glad you liked the track, Ken. That means a lot!
mrkenallen
I also like this one you did. The ZZ Top spoof in the SQ1 Rocket Bar.
MusicallyInspired
Oh yes! I forgot about that one! :) That one's even older. I need to update these sometime. They are painfully showing the lack of quality I had back then!
Zorch
Holy crap. Well played Sir!
Troels Pleimert
Holy ape-balls, that's awesome! Mind if I toss that up on the G+ page as well? Edit: "Holy ape-balls" doesn't cut it. This stuff is pure genius. MusicallyInspired
MusicallyInspired
Thanks, guys. Go ahead, Troels.
mrkenallen
I'm also adding a few recordings from my film scoring sessions while attending UCLA. These are very raw, but I wanted to share some of this work for those who might be interested. If you want to hear these as the are posted, subscribe to my channel at YouTube.com/mrkenallen. Frede
Well, I did a partial cover of the SQ12 fanfare (the tune that plays after you've defeated Vohaul). We used it in "Vohaul Strikes Back" - incidentally, I hope you're pro-fangames, Ken. Never wanted to step on anyone's toes, but you can't have a "Space Quest"-game without some of these themes :) I also hope the other VSB guys won't mind me using the server for this... Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here you go: http://www.sqvsb.com...Music/Xenon.ogg

Collector
I'm VERY pro fan games! Hey Ken, have you tried IA's SQ2 VGA remake? I felt it truly recaptured the spirit of SQ. http://www.infamous-...ex.php?page=sq2 Frede

mrkenallen
After leaving Sierra, I eventually landed at Tsunami Media and created music for all their games, one of which was Blue Force, an adventure game from Jim Walls, designer and creator of Sierra's Police Quest series. Here is a link to a playlist on my YouTube channel for the music for that game.
