Troels Pleimert Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Hi, guys. I have a dirty secret. For the past couple of weeks, I have been in contact with Scott Murphy. He e-mailed me because of the rumor that Replay Games had announced that he was on board for their recapturing of the Space Quest license. The rumor, as it turned out, is false. What is true, however, and what I have been sitting on my hands trying hard not to let loose, is that Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe are no longer estranged Andromedans, living separate lives in separate parts of that there American country, resting on the laurels of their former glory. Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe are officially again The Two Guys from Andromeda. Don't believe me? Check out http://www.guysfromandromeda.com. Quote
e1ven Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 We are living in freakishly amazing times. This is wonderful news! Quote
Akril Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 I'm... I'm just going to sit here in stunned silence for about fifteen minutes... (But I think I've found the perfect song to celebrate this remarkable turn of events.) nockgeneer 1 Quote
Datadog Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 I don't know how to react anymore. This is crazy, crazy "we've been waiting over 20 years for this" news. Tim Schafer, Al Lowe, Jane Jenson... now the Two Guys. Do Roberta and the Coles want to jump in any time soon? Also, why hasn't SQ.net been updated since 2006? And why is the Virtual Broomcloset still closed? Quote
Collector Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Do Roberta and the Coles want to jump in any time soon? Please. please, please, pretty please! Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 And why is the Virtual Broomcloset still closed? I was kind of under the impression that you were the one who closed it... Quote
Datadog Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Then in that case, I'll have to get Jess to update it so I can re-open it (currently, only spam bots are allowed to post in it). Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Chris, did you see the 3D character artist opening? Quote
Troels Pleimert Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 I'll be keeping the Roger Wilco profile on G+ updated - http://gplus.to/rogerwilco - but it would be great if Jess came out of the woodworks and opened the floodgates. It's back to being 17 again. ;) Quote
mjomble Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Jolly alright then! (Y) Do Roberta and the Coles want to jump in any time soon? From what I heard, Replay is in talks with Ken and Roberta, but nothing certain is known yet. Chris, did you see the 3D character artist opening? That. Do that. ;) Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Just don't make Roger with boobs this time. ;) Quote
mjomble Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Just don't make Roger with boobs this time. ;)Or make them bigger. It's all or nothing. Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 So is anyone else getting the impression from the narrator auditions video that Gary Owens will be on as narrator for the new game? Or am I reading too much into it? Quote
Troels Pleimert Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Someone did mention the name Gary in a recent conversation I had. Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Also, why hasn't SQ.net been updated since 2006? And why is the Virtual Broomcloset still closed? I wonder if they're going to have official forums.... Quote
Troels Pleimert Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 I wonder if they're going to have official forums.... So far, there's an official Facebook page - http://facebook.com/guysfromandromeda And a Twitter - http://twitter.com/andromedaguys Not exactly forums, but it's a way to convey your thoughts directly. :) Quote
pcj Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Yeap. Forums lend themselves to a conversational organization (which can be easily linked to and found later) which, IMO, Facebook and Twitter both don't handle well. The JT works fine for us talking *about* it, but I suppose it's not all-inclusive of all SQ fans/those interested in their new project (though probably close) whereas official forums would probably allow fans to discuss the project more directly. Obviously probably a bit early to be thinking about stuff like this. I'm just geeking out...slightly. Quote
Johnathon Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Magnificent. Simply incredible. :) Quote
Decaffeinated Jedi Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Amazing news for Space Quest fans everywhere.... Jess Quote
jfrisby Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 I'm amazed -- I'm doubly amazed that they reconciled - BRILLIANT! Quote
Datadog Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Just don't make Roger with boobs this time. :)Or make them bigger. It's all or nothing. Applied. Those man-boobs are going to be enormous. Just you wait and see. I myself wonder if they'll open their own forums. Their website certainly seems to be set up enough for it. Quote
MusicallyInspired Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 I'm so psyched for this! I will give them whatever money the ask for! SQ was my favourite game series ever. Still is! I almost want to apply for the sound designer position, but the requirements page seems to be blank or missing. I'm half considering opening a Guys From Andromeda specific subforum sometime in the future on the Janitorial Times. I think it's important enough to make a separate section given that these are the two minds that gave us Space Quest to begin with. What does everyone think of that? Of course, it's too early at this point. But we finally have something new to talk about again which is the main thing! Wilcofever 1 Quote

I'm applying because Chris urged me to - I reckon it's worth a shot, even though I'm not professional by any means. I probably won't get it, but at least I can use my work on VSB and SQInc for something here :) Quote
Frans Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 That's awesome news! Guess I'll have to get out the ol' FTP log-in again and start with some much needed dusting. But than again, maybe not. :) Quote
