I was recently looking at some cool parody adventure game-related art like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dcM9qUybf1E/UULwykWRGSI/AAAAAAAALJo/ma3tD95ketI/s1600/20090225-lucasarts-star-wars.jpg I think it would be cool if, in the future, there were a SpaceVenture poster contest. I have no idea what the prize could be, but it could be something as simple as being featured on the website. I know that the Two Guys have a lot more important things to think about now, but maybe something like this could be fun when the release is nearer. There are a lot of talented artists in the adventure game fan community.

What do you all think about the use of text boxes, like in SQ1VGA, VS. floating, colored text over characters, as in the first Monkey Island games. I think the floating text makes the gameplay so much better. It doesn't pull you out of the scene so much, and sometimes I think the jokes and written sound effects (eg, *snap*) work much better out of text boxes. It is more like a comic book style.

I have backed a total of 6 successfully funded Kickstarters and today marks the first project of my list that I've received my game from. Chuck's Challenge 3D was finally released a few days ago and my Desura key just got activated. List your successful and released Kickstarters here.

My new cartoon is out! This is the last in my long series of Ducktales cartoons dating back to high school. It took almost a year and a half to finish, and it's already opening up to positive reviews. Just a heads-up that it's over 35 minutes, so when you get the time, come check it out and leave a vote if you have an account. And be sure to check out previous episodes if you want to Click here for Scrooge McDuck and Vegeta having a guys' night out!

Last week when this broke, I was not free to say anything as I was under an NDA with Sunlight. I have been told that I can now reveal what I know. The original will soon be available. http://sierrahelp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3841&p=50156#p50156

Hey, guys! I'm excited to announce my first step on my own into the music industry (besides the game work I've done) with my first song entitled "Uncontrolled Reentry"! It's a 9-minute instrumental with elements of electronic, rock, progressive, and probably more reflecting my personal journey through life, how unpredictable it's been, and how I'm positive and excited about where the future will take me. All that fancy wording aside, it's basically just finally my own project with my own ideas and outlook on music that I've been wanting to get out there for years. It's inspired by artists like Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, and even bands li…

Hey My name is Oded Sharon, i’m the CEO of Adventure Mob. Recently I've been pouring my life into a new game called Bolt Riley that I've worked on since November 2011. It’s a 2D point and click adventure game I designed myself along with legendary game designers Corey and Lori Cole who made Quest for Glory. It tells the story of the greatest Reggae musician that ever lived and deals with many important subjects like dealing with racism, bullying and oppression, it has themes of peace, love, and friendship. Please check it out on Kickstarter: http://bolt-riley.com/ks I would be grateful if you can spare a few buckazoids and send a communication th…

This game has everything you need: the space janitor, the gore and the physics! *** Viscera Cleanup Detail is a game about a janitor cleaning up the space station after an alien attack. Here is how the creators discribe it: "Disaster! An alien invasion and subsequent infestation have decimated this facility. Many lives were lost, the facility was ruined and the aliens were unstoppable. All hope was lost until one survivor found the courage to fight back and put the aliens in their place! It was a long and horrific battle as the survivor dueled with all manner of horrific life-forms and alien mutations, but our hero won out in the end and destroyed the alien menace…

Me and my brother did a fairly simple slot machine game in Unity and it should work on the Android devices with 2.2 upwards. Anyone here willing to give it a spin? As said, it's pretty basic game. You got your betting and spinning buttons, as well as zoom that takes you closer to the rollers. If you run out of in game currency you should get a batch of 1000 units in 12 hours. https://play.google.....fsware.tovslot

Not sure if this has been posted, or how new this is. Filled with a lot of interesting information that basically confirms what I'd guessed all along. The higher ups just never cared about games. I'm truly sad to read about what 1313 was going to be and what it didn't have the chance to become. This kind of behaviour is so rampant in the entire gaming industry today and is why I still kind of believe that the market will crash again as a result. You can only destroy good projects and screw over loyal fanbases so long before finally they'll wake up and get sick of it. At least, I'd hope so. Good developers and names that were gaming's biggest and best disappear as a result…

I occasionally hold some tournaments over on the SHP forums. In the past, we've done Best Hero, Best Villain, Best Sidekick, Best Easter Egg and now we're doing an art tournament. We're currently on Round 2 and it would be great to see some new faces voting (not to mention there's quite a few Space Quests in this week's roster!) so come on over and cast your votes! www.sierrahelp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3588

Alright, so... I gather some may be wondering as to why I'm bothering to post this, considering that we have DOSBox; but some of us perfer not to deal with minor glitches that come along with DOSBox, or may be severe hardcore retro gamers who want to play some of the games that DOSBox is not compatible with. Or, some of you just may be serious 486 nerds like myself, so... I thought I'd point you to a rare find: You can buy Baby AT 486 motherboard (the ESA TF-486) from this website, newly designed by ESA to industrial standards, for $200.00. It has very nice expansion ability, the rare ability to use PS/2 keyboard and mouse with a 486, from the looks of it i…

If you want to know what's going on in the Kickstarter adventure game scene and are on Facebook and/or Twitter, then you should check out the Kickstart Ventures page. It was set up by Broomie (from Quest for Infamy) and has been providing news about past, present, and future projects. If that's not enough to get you interested, he asked me to help out in keeping everyone up-to-date. Since all of you (the regulars, at least) know that I've been backing most (if not all) of them you'll get all of the latest updates and announcements. https://www.facebook.com/kickstartventuresblog https://twitter.com/KS_Ventures If you're not on Facebook or Twitter, but still wan…

Okay, so recently I came into possession of my very first home. Not a rental, but my own, honest-to-goodness house. Granted, it's a single-wide trailer and a bit worn around the edges, but it's still mine, dammit! ...ahem. Along with this relocation came a new cell phone - one that, unlike my old phone, has unlimited calls and text. More importantly, it's a smart phone - my very first one. ^_^ Having never had this level of technology before, I've been absorbed in all the myriad of ways to abuse its power and/or waste my time more productively than ever before. It's an Android phone - an Electrify-M - and I figured I'd come on here and ask you folks…

Hey kids! James Mulvale here, I wrote the score for Quest for Infamy, the Cluck Y'egger game, SpaceVenture prototypes and a bunch of other stuff...I am NOW writing an album of both orchestral and organic-sound musical compositions that are recorded in true 3D audio meaning you will hear things coming from in-front and behind your head, above and below it... Not just left and right. My music will sample nature as well as human and household sounds and I intend to make my listeners feel like they are a million light years away. Please spread the word and if you think this is a pretty cool idea (it's definitely an unusual experience) then throw a few dollars in this dir…

My thoughts exactly; though in my case I was/might still be good at it. My idea is more: Art is the production of profound elegance. This means what one persons deems art can be different from another (seen in practice) and that anything can be turned into art if the crafter is willing to become an artisan (whether that be an arrangement of flowers or a particularly beautifully laid-out circuit board).
