Don't get me wrong, I love the fan games. Pretty much all of them. I hear 4.5 is kind of odd, but I haven't played it, so I wouldn't know. Anyway, that's not the point. Until recently, I've only known about two Space Quest fan games: Space Quest 0 (prequel) and The Lost Chapter (set between SQ2 and SQ3). Coming here from the SV Kickstarter campaign, I also found out about the SQ2 remake, Vohaul Strikes Back, and Incinerations (or whatever it's called). I'd like to know if there are any others out there, links to download them, and where they fit in the Space Quest universe chronologically. I like to play each series in order and I tend to shove fan-made games into my playthroughs in the order of events. And I am looking to do a Space Quest marathon soon, which includes these hidden gems.

Okay, so strictly-strictly this isn't quite a SQ fangame, but it also more or less is. Essentially this is a mod for the classic TBS/RTS strategy game Rome Total War that puts it in a parody-fantasy universe that is very (read: disconcertingly) similar to that of Space Quest (though with tropes from 40K, Star Trek, Firefly, and other universes thrown in and occasionally lampshaded). I don't know how big the adventure/strategy crossover is so appreciate there may be no interest in this at all, but thought I'd share it here since it has so many nods to SQ. I suspect everyone's tired of somebody new coming on here and wondering the same thing, but does anybody know if there are any plans for the original Space Quest Series? i read about how Vivendi is it? has shut down multple attempts to remake some of these titles, but at the same time they don't seem to be in a hurry to bring their own ideas to the table. It is one of the most impressive SCI fan games I have seen. Hey there, music archivists! The next episode of the Space Quest Historian podcast (coming out on Dec 25) is going to prominently feature my all-time favorite tune from the Space Quest series, the Format Countdown. I know there have been a bunch of remixes and reworkings of this tune over the many years -- I know I did a few myself, which I have sadly lost. I managed to find my old "rock'n'roll remix" MIDI on an old Angelfire site, but I know there are many more somewhere out there. Can anyone hook me up with any cool versions of this kick-ass tune? The more, the merrier!
