General discussion about the Two Guys From Andromeda and their new company. Also discuss the latest news about the Two Guys' newest adventure game!

  1. Started by PurpleTentacle,

To Two Guys and Pope: Almost time for a new update? Please provide more information about the interface, if possible. How has it changed since the demo? Also, could we see more footage of gameplay? Please make this a "meaty" update. :-)

  2. Started by Troels Pleimert,

There's been some talk in the Twittersphere lately about rekindling the long-lost art of the Superfan Hangout on Google+. So I'm gonna throw this one out in the open and see if we can't collectively cook up something special. For instance, what should we do? At the first Hangout, we played Space Quest. At our second Hangout, we played the fan games. (Well, we tried, anyway.) I had the suggestion of using G+'s "shared sketchpad" function, where we could post pictures and draw a nice little tribute to The Two Guys. (Fred's worried that it'll devolve into a penis-drawing competition. I hope we can show a bit more class than that. ;) ) We could also do a …

IGN posted a new interview today with the Two Guys, discussing all things SpaceVenture. There isn't really a lot here that we don't already know from the podcast that ran during the Kickstarter, or Chris Pope's more recent updates, but it's a good read nevertheless. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/09/15/spaceventure-the-new-game-from-the-creators-of-space-quest

  4. So, yes, as you've probably noticed from the Kickstarter update, I've made the transition from video to audio. I'm now hosting "The Space Quest Historian Podcast" which is going out on Chris Pope's TechJives.net network, and will also be receiving its own iTunes feed sometime. For now, you can check out the first episode here: http://techjives.net...sode-1Copy.mp3 (Three cheers to Christian Giegerich for the perty, perty logo he made out of Mark Crowe's Historian-portrait!) The first episode features illustrious veteran alumni Jess Morrissette talking about how The Two Guys invented the adventure game arcade sequence; and illustrious veteran alumni Frederik…

I was just looking over some of the old SQ7 designs from 1997, here: http://www.spacequest.net/archives/sq7/sq7sketches/index.shtml Don't know if it's been brought up before, but I noticed a few similarities to things we've seen from SpaceVenture... I'm guessing some of Scott's ideas from that era made it through to SV? Similar van/spaceship thing: Rooter/Robo-pup: This one is a little more tenuous, but it's like the SQ7 version has both the tubes from the hose place and the circles from Nurbs combined into one place...

  6. Not sure if this has been discussed already. Sorry if I'm duplicating another post. Have the Two Guys confirmed whether SpaveVenture will be episodic, or whether it will be released only as a full game when it is ready? My preference is definitely for a full-game only release, but I guess I could deal with episodic.

  7. How does one add such a thing? It's probably right in front of my face, but I don't see a 'Change avatar' or 'Profile picture' option when updating my profile

  8. Hey, guys. I apologize for spamming this forum about the podcast; really. But this time, I have got a creative challenge for you guys. Listeners of the podcast will already know that all throughout season 1 and for the past two episodes I have used some unused takes from Space Quest IV of Roger Wilco reading product descriptions from the Hz So Good store as commercial breaks. But, for the upcoming episode 15, I have officially run out of these takes. But I'm not ready to give up the running gag of useless products in the commercial breaks. That's why I want to solicit ideas from you about products to advertise that don't actually exist. Would any of you be…

I find the main page very lacking in info,I backed this game during the KS campaign and yet I still have no clue whats going on with the game or when the release is suppose to be. Am I missing something here? I honestly have kind of given up on the game all togehter and I was a huge sierra/SpaceQuest fan when they were originally released.

  10. On the one hand, we‘re being told that SpaceVenture recording sessions may start as soon as June. On the other hand there‘s a lot of talk of the new narrative editor that enables the Two Guys to make on-the-fly changes to the game text. I hate to break it to you, but if you start recording the voice overs next month, that pretty much negates the whole prospect of making quick changes to your text. I can only speak for myself, but I‘d prefer if they‘d wait with the voice recordings until they have a definite and finished script, or better yet, have already released a finished beta build that is only missing the voice work. Since there are apparently a bunch of fairly high…

  11. Started by Troels Pleimert,

I had the good fortune to speak to Scott recently, and we talked a bit about what kind of guy Ace Hardway is ... especially as opposed to what kind of guy Roger Wilco was. Now, full-on disclaimer: I don't know any details about the game itself, or the plot, or any of the other characters. I don't have any spoilers to give. All of what follows is purely subjective opinion and does not necessarily reflect what will end up in the final SpaceVenture. So, Ace Hardway ... What a guy. Just from the way he has that casual swagger about him (SpaceVenture backers will know what I mean -- you've all seen the test animation of Ace, right?), you can tell he's a laid-back …

  12. Deadline: November 1st Deadline passed! Video complete! http-~~-//youtu.be/Uy_q4y1LiG0 Decided to make a new thread for this. For those not in the know, following the events on the latest Kickstarter update, I thought it'd be nice to make a mass tribute video to the Two Guys and the Space Pope for all they've done and are going to do and for giving then some encouragement and a morale boost. I don't know exactly what goes on behind the scenes, but after the...comment on the update, and the events that transpired afterward including the incredible level-headed and unwavering support from the backers, it seemed aporopriate to reinforce that support by bl…

  13. Does anyone know if we're still on track to get the official project update today?

  14. Started by Tom King,

I had an idea for promoting the art of the game in its current state. I apologize if this or something similar has been pitched before, but it would be cool to see a timelapse of Mark painting a scene from start to finish. Some commentary where he walks us through the process, describing brushes, tools and techniques would be a plus. What do you guys think?

  15. Hey, gang. Maybe you've seen this on the Kickstarter comments page; maybe you haven't. Here it is, in all its dubious glory: Source: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceventure/two-guys-spaceventure-by-the-creators-of-space-que/posts/615568?cursor=4596069#comment-4596068 If you're late to the party, meet Paul Trowe. He's the CEO of Replay, who did the Leisure Suit Larry remake. And he's taking a mighty big interest in what the Two Guys are doing, for reasons that we of course can only speculate about (but are really quite obvious when you think about it). It's no secret that the SpaceVenture project has had a rocky ride -- first with people sa…

Don't forget to go wish Scott a Happy Annual day of womb evacuation.. Just don't tell him about that one time you dreamt about being his beard for the day.... I'm looking at you Troels.

Hello, I just pay for the game on the main website and I still don't have the purchase confirmation email. I just got the one from Paypal. No other emails ... That is strange. It's normal ? What's wrong? Thanks

Hello, I would like to know if this game will be translated in French ? Thanks

  19. Started by PsychoDeli,

Hi guys Hoping for a bit of help. I backed this project on Kickstarter ($15) My questions: Am I entitled to play the demo? If so, how do I get a login to download it? I tried logging in but I don't know my details...I tried using the password recover option but that does not work. I get a message "Email could not be sent, host disabled email" Any ideas?

Hi... long time Space Quest fan, this is my first time posting... I'm really looking forward to the new game, and I'm sure it'll be amazing. Though one thing makes me uneasy, though just in a small way and I wondered if anyone else felt the same... One of the reasons I really liked Space Quest, was that the characters and environments all were done in a sort of "realistic" style, like Roger looked like he could be a "real" person and the places he went looked like they were done seriously. I thought that made the game really involving and also made the humor even funnier, because it was contrasted with a "real" and "lived-in" sci-fi world that had all this…

  21. Started by Troels Pleimert,

Well, Hangouts are a blast-and-a-ton and I love 'em dearly. But they also do require a bit more preparation than most virtual hangouts (e.g. you have to comb your hair, put your pants on, put headphones on and remain absent from your family, loved ones, pets and dust bunnies for 4+ hours ...). So I was thinking, how about a quickie? ;) I was thinking maybe we could all decide to get together at one time on the SQN IRC channel and just shoot the shit? There's tons of good news on the horizon with the SpaceVenture demo -- and maybe we could even get The Pope to join in, if he's not too busy. (Considering what he's neck-deep in right now, which is getting the demo…

  22. Started by Frede,

You're all going to hate this, but... So happy 30th, Frans!

  23. Started by gumpy,

Ok, this question has probaly been asked before - so don't yell at me for asking it. Are the Two Guys doing Space Venture instead of Space Quest 7 becuase they can't get the rights for actual Space Quest name, characters, etc - or are there other reasons?

  24. Greetings! After four months of hard work, Akril and I are proud to announce the release of Pledge Quest II: Noodle Shop of Horrors. You can head over to the newly-launched PledgeQuest.Net and download it now for Windows, Mac, and Linux!* Here's a screenshot from the opening cinematic that showcases Akril's awesome art on the project: I hope you folks enjoy the game; it was a blast working on it. Now, let's spread the word** and rustle up a few more buckazoids for the SpaceVenture stretch goals! Jess * Special thanks to Lunchbox and s_d for all their hard work to provide day-one Mac and Linux support! ** Twitter is being weird and block…

  25. Started by Daventry,

Hello, I just purchased SpaceVenture at the $100 physical tier from the 'Guys from Andromeda' website using the paypal option and I was wondering... How do I gain access to the SVRewards site which is listed as a tier reward for that level? Since I wasn't involved during the kickstarter I didn't receive any type of registration e-mail at the campaigns closing. Hoping someone in the know can point me in the right direction here as I am so excited to be a part of the adventure game renaissance in general and specifically the SpaceVenture project! Thanks!
