Hello Even though there's (amidst the sheer amount of negativity and drama) a group of people who are overly positive about the outcome of this project I would like to raise the question that apparently hasn't been asked yet. What's gonna happen if we don't get the required amount in 12 days? Are you lot going to continue development or search other means to re-do the funding? I would ofcourse like to see this come to a happy ending but I'm reknown for my cynicism so I fear this is the first kickstarter I've followed that's gonna fail. And it sucks. Id like to help but my financial means do not allow help in such matter (and no the "whats 1$ for ya" doesn't m…

Folks, As everyone knows, I'm spending my free time trying to remake some Space Quest soundtracks for SQ's 20th anniversary, my website's 10th, and for the Two Guys' Kickstarter. So when I invest some limited time to post about this, you know I mean it from the heart. So, this is a mini-disclaimer saying I love the project, and want it to work, I'm not bashing the Pope, or anyone else associated with the (space) venture. That said- I went to the KS page for the 2 Guys today.. and I gotta say, it was a hot mess. Now *I* love it, because it has a lot of info. But let's be honest, for those who are NOT diehards like myself, it was very confusing and had WAY to…

Hey, guys. Because of a limitation on SQN, I'm going to post these highlights in segments. These links are all time codes in the full 4+ hour Hangout that was attended by notable veterans such as Jess Morrissette, Frederik Olsen, PCJ (whose connection crashed every five minutes), and ... holy shit, Akril shows up at the end! Anyway, here's the first batch of highlights. So, I'll bet you're all really jealous you couldn't make it to the first ever Space Quest Superfan Hangout on Google+ (which took place this Friday). For those of you still blissfully unaware of the glorious mayhem you may have missed, here are a few points of interest: Scott Murphy s…

Hey gang! You may have seen this already on the front page, but -- just in case -- I wanted to invited everyone to join us tonight (Friday, June 1) at 8:00 PM Eastern time for the Space Quest Superfan Hangout. Basically, a group of diehard Space Quest fans are getting together to play our favorite games from the series and stream the results live. The goal? Rally support for the SpaceVenture, of course! More details are available here, with the highlights copied and pasted below. The link for the live stream is on its way. Won't you join us tonight? And spread the word? Jess

Everyone add $5.42 to their pledge... $5 because that is how much the Jumbo Monolith w/polycheeze is at Monolith Burger.. and the .42 in honor of Douglas Adams who knew a thing or two about space venturing and died in the month of May in 2001... Encourage as many people as you can to do the same.. it will end up adding up. Twitter sized message if anyone wants to pass it on. add $5.42 on spaceventure $5 = Jumbo Monolith w/polycheeze @MonolithBurger .42 = Douglas Adams died May of 2001. @SlashVohaul @Wilcofever This post has been promoted to an article

Scott mentioned on Twitter that he'd be all over a Space Quest/SpaceVenture convention. I was thinking we could probably do a virtual convention pretty easily - like on Sarien.net or in a version of the AGS IRC client (like was used at the AGS Awards). Thoughts? (This could probably intrude on the "access to private chat room discussions with Scott and Mark" $150 Kickstarter tier, but it could also help promote it...)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceventure/two-guys-spaceventure-by-the-creators-of-space-que/posts/235514 Brilliant move :) I used to think of my pledge in terms of paying for the new game, plus a little extra to support the project. Now I'm thinking of it as retroactively paying for the entire SQ series, from which I've never legally purchased a single game. Pledge UP'D! :D

I noticed Good Old Games is really pushing Carmageddeon and the Tex Murphy KS campaigns. This week is "Tex Murphy Week" (http://www.gog.com/p...tex_murphy_week), they are offering all the old Tex games at half price. I obviously have no idea what the logistics or legalities of this are but I think it'd be cool if something similar could be done with the Space Quest games over there. Barring that, having GoG tweeting for the KS as they are for Carmageddeon would also be cool.

Prototype #2 is now live! It is recommended that you listen to this audio clip first: After playing the prototype, listen to this clip: I've also extracted and made available for other browsers the prototype: http://pcj.bz/sq/sketch2 (They've got a warning message this time for non-Chrome users, appropriately so).

Hi, everyone - Apologies if this is a little facile... So we've got a pretty solid core of backers right now (around 4000). Of course, we'll pick up more backers as the campaign continues, but 4000 seems pretty good. Anyway, if we can get some sort of momentum going on the KS comment page, we could (potentially....) up the total amount pledged even if backers only raise their pledges by a modest amount. Any ideas? I'm not sure how many backers actually visit the message board, but surely a good number do. At any rate, it really wouldn't take much (from each individual) to seriously get this KS going, and to raise morale. Did they do any sort of 'micro-raising' t…

Hello All! Long time reader, first time posting. I'm usually writing as andromedan_denizen in the chats. I am thrilled that the Guys from Andromeda are back and ready to give us a new sci-fi adventure game. Hopefully we can make our 500k goal, although at this date it is looking a tad bleak. While we had a good day yesterday we'll need to average $16,660.75 / day to reach our goal. So I figure we need to do as much as possible (as I'm sure everyone is aware) to promote the project, and motivate the $15 tiers up. To help the effort I compiled this promo video. Watch it here: Let me know what you guys think of it, and if you like it, let's try and get it o…

Hello Space Quest Fans! I'm very psyched about this project. I was at the SQ marathon chatting with a few SQ fans and I mentioned an idea I had last night (a few beers were involved). Do you guys think that perhaps we should try to leverage the impressive voice talent we have a bit more? My stupid idea was youtube videos featuring the individual voice talent (as cut from the kickstarter videos). e.g. Gary Owens -- the Man with the Golden Voice -- on SpaceVenture! Rob Paulsen - Pinky and the Brain, Yakko from Animaniacs, Raphael the Ninja Turtle -- on SpaceVenture! Robert Clotworthy – Jim Raynor from StarCraft -- on SpaceVenture! …

Saw somewhere that the Tex Murphy folks were making up fliers and posters and stuff for gaming stores, comic shops... So I thought I'd make a little thing to throw up in random places. Don't know that it'll do anything, but I'll just enjoy confusing people. If anyone feels like making something more counter-friendly for shops... That might work too. So here's a poster that requires a Monolith Burger decoder ring. Link to a PDF below with 6-per sheet, ideal for sticker paper. I hope someone does a marathon like they did for Larry and for Jane Jensen's project. It should help raise some more awareness.

Alright, so... I had $100 worth of advertising credits that came with my website account and which I had never used. I decided to go ahead and plug in a campaign for the SpaceVenture Kickstarter on the google search engine. These ads, according to google, should begin almost immediately. PLEASE, do NOT click on them if you are already aware of the kickstarter - as they will stop running once my promotional balance is used up. To try and avoid excessive clicks from being used up, I have them set to display only twice per day maximum to any given unique web surfer. Also, given that the balance is for only $100, I have the quota set to $3.45 per day. What this…

Hey all, I posted this idea to the Kickstarter campaign, and to make sure it wasn't lost, I wanted to submit it to the massive think tank we have going here. Maybe it will spark more ideas, who knows. See what you think: Alright, so I think I have a decent--and admittedly undeveloped--idea for later prototypes: The Isla Dome is invaded by Sludge Vohaul and the Two Guys have been captured. To rescue them, you will need various gadgets and build a space ship. This is where Kickstarter comes in: To acquire all the gadgets and parts necessary, the event will have to reach the goal. In the meantime, you can purchase various parts to start building your ship and assembl…

For those who haven't seen it, Paul Trowe (Replay Games, with Josh/Al doing LSL1VGA on Kickstarter) said this to Ken Allen (former SQ4 composer and about to be interviewed by the Two Guys) on Facebook today: "Ask them a hard question. Ask them why they didn't join up with the folks at Replay Games to create Sierra 2.0 and instead chose some guy they've never heard of, Chris Pope, to run a company they don't own." Thoughts/comments please! Talk about putting the flarx amongst the kjorn.

Hi guys, Just wondering what the current situation of the Space Quest rights are? Will you be able to use things like Buckazoids and other characters from the series in your new kickerstarter game? Would be great to know. Does suck that the big corporations hold the rights and have no plans to release or allow others to use them. Cheers, Rob
