General discussion about the Two Guys From Andromeda and their new company. Also discuss the latest news about the Two Guys' newest adventure game!

  1. Started by SamosaSan,

I've just got a quick question about the rewards for the Kickstarter campaign. - Sorry if the answer to this is obviously written elsewhere (Which it must be as I can't find anyone asking similar questions!) but I can't seem to find it. When will the different reward tiers start rolling out? I'm not too bothered about when I get the extra cool stuff, but I was curious as I haven't heard anything. I'm getting the GOG credit, autographed art print and also involved in an easter-egg. I'm guessing that most of them will be once the game is complete? - So it just means another thing to look forward too! But it would be great to know. Cheers!

Hi, guys. Not much out of me lately, huh? Well, here's something brand new. Google+ opened up the possibility to build "communities." Since the original intention behind the 2GFA Google+ page (http://gplus.to/rogerwilco) was to just post nostalgic screenshots from the Space Quest past and wax romantically about them, I thought I'd graciously give the rest of the world the chance to do likewise. Especially since the focus of the Google+ page has moved on from nostalgia to more current topics (cough-SpaceVenture!-cough). Enough smarm already. Here's the nostalgia channel for all you "Plussers" out there. (God, I hope they come up with a better name for G+ user…

Hey, kids. As you may have noticed in a previous post somewhere, the venerable Chris Pope has agreed to let me turn the tables on him and interview the man himself for his own podcast. So, of course I've got a lot of burning questions myself, but one can only talk about the man's hair for so long ... So I figured I'd give some of you space denizens the chance to butt in. If you have any burning questions for The Pope himself, let 'em rip in this thread. I can't promise I'll pick up all the questions, but I'll try to run with the best of 'em. In all seriousness, the interview is primarily about who Chris Pope is, what he's doing up in our SpaceVenture…

Hey guys, just wondering where I go to find updates on the new game itself? Is it under development, any projected timeline?

  7. Started by s_d,

Folks; my wife & I have been thinking about this for about three weeks now, but backer Maya commented, in the aftermath of funding, that we ought to put together a celebratory fan art collage. I agree, at least to celebrate the difficult journey that project had in getting funded, if for no other reason (like a tribute or something). I have no idea how or in what way it will come together, but I made this topic to spark discussion. This will be fun, I think! So... SpaceVenture Kickstarter community... what do you think? Should we do something like this? What form should it take? Physical, digital, etc? Video? Something else? Incomplet…

  8. Okay, so I couldn't resist posting this up anymore. Sorry if it's been mentioned, I've been a bit busy and haven't been able to follow the activity here on a consistent basis. So, anyways, I'm glad we had over 10,000 contributors to ensure the SpaceVenture would happen, and I recall that one couldn't refresh the screen without the comments page being overfilled to the point that following it coherently was impossible. ...and I'm thinking about all that, and thinking about the fact that the Rewards site has been up for months now, and I'm wondering, "where is everybody?" Are they all just sitting back and watching? It seems the handful of people we have activel…

  9. Scott and Mark mentioned that the Two Guys from Andromeda will most likely be featured in SpaceVenture. What part in the story do you see them playing? I have a theory that Ace will be sent to their house to unclog their toilet (He first needs to disguise himself using a Twinkie) then ultimately ends up serving them drinks! :P

  10. Hey all, It's been a while since I visited these forums. Years actually: back when I was coding a virtual sierra-related chatroom in 2003 or 2004. Didn't even remember my login credentials so the sign-in-with-twitter was a nice welcoming :D Just for the fun of sharing, I was wondering if any of you SQ fans saw the EGA pics we made for laughs during the kickstarter? We thought they'd make a good sq4-ish joke where the KS 2012 dome was in fact a remake of an old 1986 Sierra game - with time and space all getting mixed up and such. Fun fact: Mark loved them but was afraid it would scare away new potential backers as it could make them…

  11. Hey, gang! I've had an idea kicking around for the last few days, so I thought I'd throw it out there for the community to digest. Inspired by the guy who created a short LucasArts-style adventure as a job application for Double Fine, I thought it might be a fun idea to create a one-room AGI adventure to promote the SpaceVenture Kickstarter. My concept was a short adventure featuring a Space Quest fan completing a couple of puzzles (finding his/her wallet, accessing his/her computer, etc.) that culminate in the character pledging to the campaign. Of course, the whole thing would end by encouraging the player to follow up with a real-life pledge. I have some…

  12. I put together a page of copy calling HTML5 and adventure gaming fans to arms: http://helpthetwoguys.handcraft.com/ Please spread this amongst any web developers, software engineers, Googlers, design geeks, etc that you can find - it may help get some more pledges by people who want to see a great HTML5 project happen on top of people who just want to see the game. It may be a viable angle that I'd like to try out. Try not to post this in the Kickstarter comments, though - that isn't the right crowd, as we've seen ;-) Thanks! PS. This is not a confirmation of HTML5 being the final tech used in the game, or even any comment by us on the ma…

  14. ****** SUBMISSIONS NOW CLOSED, THANKS EVERYONE! ****** Hey everyone! I'm looking for someone who is good with video to help with some video related things involving the podcasts. As a lot of you know, it has been a struggle dealing with Justin.TV, and it's ability to not record the audio during the live shows. Switching to a different provider for that at this time is not an option. Here's what I need someone to do: * Pull the audio from our Commentary Page and the video from the Justin.TV page and merge the two together into a single video file. This includes all the videos on Justin.TV that have sound already. * The audio must match as closely as possib…

Does anybody else find the similarities between Astro Chicken and Cluck Y"Egger ironic?

  16. On July 6th there was a SpaceVenture update about a new backers website, and it said that e-mails containing log-in details would be going out shortly after. I'm wondering if anyone else still hasn't got theirs, because it's nearly 2 months later now and I'm left wondering what happened to mine. :( I tried going to svrewards.com/ and doing the whole "forgotten password" thing, but still no e-mail came through, so I'm not sure what's going on. Edit: a new password eventually showed in my e-mail, it just took a few hours to do so.

  17. Hello everyone. Long time no post! (Good few years maybe? :P) I pledged for the $150 reward for the TGSA Kick Starter project, but since I live in Canada, I was just wondering what steps I need to take to ensure everything is all good so I will receive my reward! I did notice the following on the Kickstarter page: I'm just wondering how I ensure my $15 payment is tied to my original reward order, and if it's to late to get that all squared away. Will Chris and the guys just know based on my credit card #, or would there be another step I'd need to take to ensure everything get's cleared up?

  18. Started by Irishmile,

I miss all the chaos that surrounded the kickstarter... what have you all been up to?

  19. Started by JamonBull,

Thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where we can collate all new and exciting news and rumours about the new SpaceVenture game. To kick things off...During JohnnyPhantom's live playthrough marathon of first four Space Quest games, none other than Scott Murphy was in the chat room! He was gracious enough to divulge some information about the SpaceVenture game and I'll repost it here. I apologise I was not able to copy and paste his exact words as they scrolled off the chat box before I could get them. However, as I was talking with him I did take some notes. Here are the tidbits, with Scott's permission to repost them. 1) He mentioned the game will be ha…

  20. http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2012/07/activision-blizzard-is-up-for-sale.html?m=1 Not sure what this all means, but apparently Vivendi is going to get rid of 61% stake in Activision Blizzard. Would this effect anything to do with IP?

  21. Started by Jared,

Waiting for the next Living Concept Art, that is. Mark's tweeted about the cool new animations, Scott's said that they're working on it and it's coming soon.... I dunno, I was expecting it to be out by now. I'm half antsy because I want to play it (of course) but half because I think it would seriously help any PayPal donations and get us some of those sweet stretch goals. At the same time I realise the last few days of the campaign were completely nuts so it makes sense for it to be late and I don't want them to rush it if it isn't what they want to release... GAH! YOU ARE TEARIN' ME APART MARK AN SCOTT! Actually, I think it's the whole campaign has got me over …

  22. There once were some fans way fanatical who considered a snout emblematical so with never a doubt, they donned snouts to go out, and expected some feedback ecstatical

  23. Started by Intendant S,

Steam just announced its Greenlight service, scheduled to launch at the end of August. As it currently stands, all games that have been submitted to Steam goes through an internal process of review. With Greenlight, users can have a say in what gets published on their digital distribution platform. I think that it would be a great way to get SpaceVenture some attention by having the Two Guys submit this project for review. I know that I'd do my best to get it upvoted. http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/

  24. Hey guys Just paid for the game in paypal, and there hasnt been any acknowledgement about it at all, even an email of confirmation. So how do we know if the payment has reached their end successfully, besides the paypal receipt?
